Yup Mrs.lwsn...nuff people do screw it up for the rest but its not just the fake marriage and overstaying guests...its also trailing down from the days of the Shower Posse and the drug trade. Its a mess immigration wise. I can think of so many people from islands like St Vincent, St Lucia etc that didn't have to have a visa to visit Canada that stayed and worked under the table and are probably still there. It really isn't fair in my opinion!!

I would never have let my husband come illegally and he has a good job so he would never jepordize himself by doing that either...in fact we lived and still presently live in Jamaica and are surviving quite passibly financially and what not although its always a struggle in Jamaica still. We just felt there was a better life for our family abroad. It is hard for us..and I'm sure the others on this site to....to have such solid family units...and alot of us have kids...and to have to be in the same line up as fake marriages. There are plenty...some of them are agreed upon...others are like meet on the beach one day..marry the next. But you can't judge at the end of the day because there are some very unique marital circumstances where its a genuine love relationship.

So its just how it goes at the end of the day. We just have to ride out this crazy process and hope for the best!! And like Ked said..support each other!!

yep it sucks bcuz we can talk about the few bad apples that ruin it for the bunch but me nah dwell on that bcuz its falling on deaf ears what KGN need to do is pick sense outta nonsense and see whatsup but not because someone comes here and seperate shortly dont make their marriage any less genuine people do grow apart and right now our lives are on hold because of this process but this too will have an end and we have to remember we married for better or worse

hopefully we all get thru and stick around for others that will comeafter us and offer advice

Yuup! For better or for worst. Just gotta be prepared for proving a genuine marriage. They can only ask what you put in your application. We just want to be reunited with our loved ones. Sometimes these IOs fail to realise that.

I was just looking at a couple of the interview questions and I was just thinking to myself, how does these questions prove that a relationship is genuine? This system is so flawed.

Btw, I should have joined the JA forum a long time ago. My hubby is in fact Jamaican by birth. He left at age 4 though and doesn't speak the lingo at all....lolz.

LOL...me and you not on the same page on that one Ked ;D ;D. I get tired of different standards for politicans/police/celebs vs the common man.

Long time since moving to JA, the gaza empire has creeped me out ??? :-X. You hear to much stuff...and I know some people who've had or witnessed bad run in's with Vybz and the gaza army or whatever you want to call it. But of course nobody talks about these things..smh so they continue!! Vybz is lyrically talented yes...however to much bad things tied to him..and bad stuff always happens to people who leave his empire or tick him off. Alot of rumours about him and his crew..and when you hear enough of the same stuff for a long period of time...there is usually truth tied in there somewhere!! The man is to hype on himself...talks in third person and acts like he's a God! It really does send chills down my spine...and there is something off about that whole set up. Watch his interviews and tell me you don't think the man is capable of bad things!!

Rumours range anywhere from him basically raping/demanding unnegotiable sex from girls in inner city communities, to him being connected to murders, ordered hits on people considered Gaza enemies,drugs, crime, politics, police corruption and a whole lot more ect. Of course there is always rumours about celebrities...but not like the rumours that follow Vybz Kartel. Movado to!! So if hes guilty..mi nuh guh feel sorry fa him!!

On the topic of proving my marriage...the system is very flawed and the questions don't seem to cover enough of what actually seperates the good from the bad...but I'm really not worried. My husband and I have been together a long time...and we know each others families...and our families know each others families. I often have my parents and his parents staying at the same time. So I don't think if an interview is nessessary...there is to many question they could think of that could confuse him as he knows me inside out! When you've lived together for some years...you do get to really know your spouse...so we are lucky. But I would still study for an interview with him...mi nuh guh leave nothing to chance when it comes to immigration!! There are long time couples with kids still waiting long periods to go through..the process is clearly not personal as far as determining these things. Its if you fit certian criteria they can check in a box!! It don't really seem to be personal except if you go for an interview!

Well good for yu SQ for staying with yu Mr in Ja..I myself came to Canada when I was 11, and my kids are all Canadian, and my husband just feel it would be so expensive uprooting everyone to go back home to live permantly, my husband also has a decent job in JA, and he is far too stush to come up illegally, lol even if I wanted him to...as a matter of fact someone suggested farm worker program and I thought he was going to faint lol..he looked disgusted rasta lol..I spent 3 months with the kids just this past June-September and financially it was crippling on both of us, because I maintain my residence here in Toronto, and my hussy was the main provider for us there, and supermarket trips were outrageous...Everything is so expensive in JA kmt..not gonna lie, as much as I am Yardie by blood not relation I missed WALMART bad bad lol...
