Lilmaya!!! Well we all know that construction is seasonal specially here up north lol so as long as there is roofs and no rain or snow lol hubby is working... he did work again today 12 hours... he was pretty sore when he got home today cause he had to carry up all the shingles up the ladder poor thing My friend asked him he was willing to go out of town for work as he has contracts coming up in the south, hubby let him know that he is willing to do anything as he really wants to pay the bills and rent for a while cause he says he owes me lots of money. (I don't really care if he dont pay me back cause I never saw it as a loan... I just helped him out when he needed it) We are looking for something permanent and fulltime that would give him a little bit security and work all year round with also full benefits until I am done school and then when I am done he would go back to school... We applied at a few places and he was contacted by 2 companies for testing and further information that he had to give so lets see what happens.... I am not too worried as he has something for now which is pretty good paying considering this is his first job in Canada. Anyways enough info lol I'm gonna be quiet and get back to work lol

lonely_wifey- I couldn't believe my freakin eyes when he showed up acting all genuine! I swear he deserves an oscar. Pig indeed! I know you can't stand him and neither can I but he sure makes the show interesting. Im a little confused though...did she know about all the things he said behind her back or did she just comes to terms on her own that he was an ass. Did hubby watch with you? Im hooked girl. What does BF mean? I see people referring to it and probably its something glaringly obvious, but I'm so clueless on this one.

Does anyone know if you can apply to school before you land in Canada and get all your SIN and PR card and all that? Reason I'm asking is hubby will likely go straight into school along side working at the job he already has waiting for him. But the application to school process takes time, so I'm wondering if once you get the passport call, if you can apply or is this a silly question because you can't apply until you can write down the SIN and stuff to prove your legally allowed to apply as a Canadian. And then my next question being, he will be able to apply as a Canadian to school won't he? He won't have to apply as a foriegner will he?

Also a friend of mine mentioned there is programs regarding new immigrants and post secondary education. Does anyone know anything about this? Trying to do a little investigating while I have the time on my hands. Once our time comes, there won't be much time for that. It will be mass chaos of wrapping our life up here and starting a new one abroad.

P.S...wanted to thank everyone on here for their support and forum friendship. I am a bold blunt person, but my intentions are good and I try to be a good and kind person. Sometimes what I say comes out wrong and I can come across all wrong to people. But thanks for putting up with me and being a great forum family. You guys have been an insane amount of support and honestly I don't know how I would have gotten this far without you all. So thank you all very much!!

Smoothie-BF is a Bring forward date which is the next time immigration is said to look at your file. We've been hearing that is typically 60 days from the last. I've been thinkin this 60 day theory makes sense but doesn't necessarily mean there will be activity. The last time there was activity on my file was Jan 28th which means a BF date of March 28th, May 28th, I'm guessing July 28th (which is probably why MP said the next time KG looks at our file is July). Just had a light bulb moment!

Hope everyone enjoyed their Canada Day festivities. Our church put on this event where they had bouncy castles, a petting zoo, donkey rides, games, face painting, dunk tanks ( Dunk-A-Pastor) a concert and then fire works. The weather was beautiful and my son had a great time. Today I have quite a bit to do so I thought I'd check in on the fam before we hit the road!

SQ yes he will be able to apply for school as a PR so he wont have to pay the crazy visitor's school fee which range in the 10k if its university. No he cannot apply before he actually gets his Canadian information as they do need that to be able to register him, the programs are normally offered thru HRDC prolly try n look for that...

Hey everyone!!

Ebonyshine... To be honest with you I don't think that Ashley saw everything that Bentley said behind her back yet... I just find that weird that Chris Harrison wouldn't of shown her the taping instead of paying for that jackass to go to Hong Kong but anyways... Hubby didn't watch it with me lol I got a PVR so when I was away it recorded the eposides for me and I watched them on wednesday when hubby was gone to work lol... But he will be stuck watching it soon enough (this monday coming up perhaps lol)

SQ... When the embassy return the passport with the visa they give them an enveloppe with some papers and one of those papers are a confirmation of permanent residence. When they arrive at the boarder in Canada they are requested to show this piece of information and the officer will ask a few questions and verify the information then they will sign and take a copy of it... they will then staple the confirmation of permanent residence in the passport and make a line of the visa... The officer will then forward the copy of the confirmation of permanent residence to immigration canada and they will send out a permanent residence card in the mail and this process takes about 6 to 8 weeks after they land. Only AFTER landing are the permanent resident eligible to get a sin so they can go to the closest Service Canada office and they will be asked to fill out a paper with some information such as address, mothers maiden name and with the passport and confirmation of permanent resident they are able to get a sin. The sin process takes about 10 minutes not even.. They will provide the permanent resident with a paper copy of the sin and the card should arrive in the mail within 10 business days. From the time he lands in Canada as a permament resident he will be able to go to school and pay the same fees as a canadian and not an international student. As for the program on new immigrants the only one that I am aware of is the one offered by the YMCA but because my husband is now currently employed I didn't have a chance to go there with him as he works long hours and they are closed by the time he gets off work.

FYI-for OHIP it does not kick in before he spends 90 days consecutive in Ontario but heads up the application can be done before the 90 days.
