tweetbr24, the average handling time varies among the different Canadian Embassies so you may want to consult their websites. There are several reasons why a visa application is rejected. Examples are irrelevant educational background with proposed program, lack of funds, intention of overstaying/working without a permit, treat to Canadian security etc.
