Hi there everybody! I am Charmaine and a newbie here on this forum, I should have joined this forum way back. It is very informative!
Ok, so here's our journey with this application.
Originally I came to Canada to work in June 2009
I met him at my workplace because he has a business there. It was a week or two after I started working there.
From then on every month we see each other at my workplace, we talk a lot, share some jokes and what not!
So that was June 2009 to April 2011
Then May 2011, we went out had lunch etc.
to make the story short, We got married Sept 4, 2011
It was just a small celebration, attended by 5 people.
then submitted application:
Nov. 23,2010- CIC-V received our application
Jan. 10, 2011- they started the processing
May 2011- received a letter asking for additional information
July 2011- they inputed my additional information
Oct. 19,2011- CIC-V transferred our documents to the local CIC here in Edmonton
After reading some posts, I learned that if they tranferred our papers there, reason is
they doubt your relationship. Which hurts me so much. Me and my husband has 32 years age gap. I'm 28 and he is 60. I know there are cases that some ladies would marry a Canadian, just for the sake of having a PR status. I heard stories everywhere, and that's the thing, sometimes they doubt you because you have this "nationality" that is known for doing this kind of thing! and that frustrates me. I love my husband so dearly. God knows how much! I have good relationship with his 2 daughters, and I love our grandchildren so much!
. My husband and my family always chat on skype. My son adores him so much!
That is why it is so frustrating, reading or hearing the word DOUBT is so! grrrrr!
Anyway,is it really true that if they tranferred it to local CIC, it will take a year or two before they send a letter or call for the interview? wahhhhhhhhhh!!!!
I hope someone will answer my query.or just give an advise! I would really appreciate it! Thank you so much for taking time to read this!
Charmaine
