Hello from New York City.

My immigration option of any kind or class at this point seems like building on my work experience. I am an Addictions Counselor (actually a CRPA for those who know the difference).

My single lead is hopeful, but only in the beginning stages and now you know as much as I do about that. LOL.

What first step(s) should I look at? What areas of this forum would be the best spots to have this discussion?

There is quite a lot I don't know about what I don't know, so some baby-step directions and guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance to all who answer.

Start by researching the Express Entry program in detail. This is the most popular program for immigrating. It's a points-based system and those with the most points are selected out of the pool for PR. You want to aim for a score of 470+ to have a chance of being selected. So you'll want to calculated your estimated score to understand your chances of being selected.
