newb questions, inland spousal application

With the Outland application you won't be paying or applying for a work permit as the applicant can only work once PR is granted.

$75 Sponsor
$475 Principle applicant
$490 RPRF

$1040

If you can afford it pay the landing fee as it tends to cause a short delay at the end.

Good thing I asked, that wasn't my understanding. I don't think of myself as an careless reader but this process is fairly dense. It probably doesn't help that I've been through both inland and outland processes.

OK, our "outland" application is assembled including the health test* etc. My final question regards photos. I guess the following text from the Japan-specific guide is pretty clear but I thought I'd double-check on how people usually handle this:

"Supply nine (9) recent photos for each member of your family and yourself (accompanying and non-accompanying). Photos submitted must be properly labeled at the back with the applicant's name, date of birth and signature...."

Since we're doing an "outland" application, and since our son and I are already Canadians (by birth) do we need to include our (nine) photos with the application? We've got then and can throw them in, but I'm no longer clear on whether we need them. I'd rather not if it's just going to cause confusion.

I see. Guess I just spent $100 unnecessarily. Are they not needed because we're already Canadian? Is there somewhere in the guidance that clarifies the requirements?
 
They are not needed because you are not part of the PR application. Every form other than Additional Family Information specifically says "family members who aren't already citizens or permanent residents", and the photos follow that.

I can follow that logic. 8^)

But then on the "Application to Sponsor and Undertaking" do I list my (Canadian citizen) son in section C? It seems to clearly indicate that I should, but this ups the count on the "Sponsorship Evaluation" which indicates that I'm entering an undertaking with my own son which seems .. odd.

The forms and guides are NOT. CLEAR.

I really appreciate all the help I've had from this community. m(-_-)m
 
As my grandma always used to say, if you help yourself God will help you too :D

But yes, the forms are a mess regarding that... just keep in mind that neither you nor your son are PR applicants, so you're not being sponsored, and pretty much none of the forms apply to you :)
 
OK, it's sent. I'd like to thank everyone here for their advice on following the outland process and the many details that tripped me up along the way.
