First time points calculate by CIO's then VO under new rules because we are sending all documents to CIO's. What did do they before when send to CIO only application? VO can reject file it is true. Why you are sending all documents to CIO. Please reply me.
CIO Always had a check on the points eligibility, the new rule to send all the documents to VO is because earlier when VO asked for the documents after getting the file from CIO some applicants did not send the documents and the others who sent the documents were given 120 days to do so, which increased the time of processing by about 4 months, so to reduce the time of processing and making sure people want to get the PR, CIC updated the rule to send the documents along with the Application

A detailed explanation for the same is given by OhCanadiana in his post:
http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/important-need-to-send-all-documents-to-the-cio-now-not-visa-office-t45808.0.html;msg331057#msg331057

The only change, Earlier you had to send the PCC along with the application but now you can send it later when VO asks for it.

He had posted a link from CIC website as well but that is no longer operational.

Hi,

New_2_Canada, this is really good news.. is it true that they are going to change the NOC List?

I believe yes, they will do it because, As you see from the NOC list for maximum cap reached NOC, there are many NOCs not reached to max cap of 1000, even few of them are not reaching to 100 applications.
So may be this year they can keep the NOC those reached 1000 cap and replace NOC not applied to the max cap.

What do you say about it?

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/complete-applications.asp

Applications received toward the overall cap: 13,143 of 20,000 as of June 8, 2011

Applications received per eligible occupation:

7371 Crane Operators 11
7372 Drillers and Blasters – Surface Mining, Quarrying and Construction 28
8222 Supervisors, Oil and Gas Drilling and Service 128

*The number of complete Federal Skilled Worker applications received as of June 8, 2011 is approximate.

**Once the cap has been reached, we can only accept applications for this occupation from people with an existing offer of arranged employment.

NOTE: Because application intake fluctuates, these figures are meant as a guide only. There is no guarantee that an application sent in now will fall within the cap.

This data I have taken from CIC website.

Hi, The new year for the immigration will start on 1st july and not 26th June. As per the current information the file still needs to go to CIO and I would suggest wait for the new list which may change and then send the application then.

Where are you from in Delhi, I am from West Delhi and am planing to apply in July/Aug.

No one can be sure about the NOC until it is out on 30th June or 1st July. Seniors on this forum are suggesting there may not be many changes in the NOC list as per previous history the list usually remains same for some time, but going through the articles on Internet and my personal opinion they may increase the number of categories this year as they were not able to meet the overall target of 20,000 if they will think of removing they would not remove the categories which have not reached the cap because Canada need people with experience in these categories.

It is my personal opinion.

Keep in mind WHY the NOC LIST was developed in the first place. The list represents the jobs that Canada needs to fill, so just because there weren't 1000 Crane Operators does not mean they will drop that one from the list if there is still a lot of construction happening in Canada. Putting the restriction on the maximum number (20,000) also cuts down on the intake of new applications which will, hopefully, provide the workforce required to process the huge backlog of applicants who have waited so patiently for years.

Yes, you are right...
Now I am looking at this list from completely different view.

Surely, they can even drop the categories such as 1122 which was the first NOC to reach max cap limit. On the contrary they will surely keep categories such as Crane operators and Dental Hygeniest, because they have not reach to its full limit.

but they may add few NOCs to the existing list may be from previous list of 38 occupations, as they were not able to reach total appl count of 20000 (it is just around 13000 as on 8th June 2011), so this is what I hope...

Can you suggest which NOCs they can add to the existing list?

you really cannot be sure until the data is out, but we can find some information on HRSDC website, there was an article where they mentioned they need people in IT but then there are many IT applications in process so we cannot be sure, as mentioned in earlier posts let us wait for the list to come out and then take it up. I am sure the list will be a positive step for the new Immigrants.

mkshah: You presuppose that CIO WANTS to see 20,000 applications....having the lower number probably makes them happy. They will have more time to deal with the dreaded backlog that makes them look bad.
Shijoal: no one knows until it is officially posted. Just another of life's sweet mysteries - like how DO they get the carmel in the Caramilk bars?

Hi pippin,
yes, it seems logical too... lesser the applications more time they get to clear the back log..

Will this have some impact on the NOC list (new MI) post 1-July-2011 also? or they will modify the existing NOC list to accomodate more/previous noc?
