Just one question. For those who came from a TRV non-exempt country and succeeded in obtaining
a WP at POE, have you filed your PR application before going to the border? If you have submitted your
PR application, will it cause any problem?

Thanks!

Hi bananawolf,

May I also ask, how about if both husband and wife wants to apply a new work permit at the border (with skilled lmo) and sowp respectively at the border, would it be possible also?
Which is the nearest border for Leduc, Alberta.

Thank you so much.

Hi,

I recently got a positive LMO from my new employer. Im thinking of renewing my WP at Buffalo, New York (Niagara) border. But my TRV as a worker expired last July 2011.

1. Can I still apply for my WP at the border without any problem or should I apply for a new TRV first?
2. If I should apply for a new TRV, can I do it at that border then apply for my work permit?

*My current work permit (company/employer closed down) expires on September 2013

Please advise

Thanks

Hi Bananawolf,

What if the work visa is already expired and the work permit is expired? The situation is the next employer's LMO application took a while because service canada required additional documents. During the waiting period, the restoration application was eventually refused. But now, we have the LMO as it was released just this week. Do you think that it is a good idea to go to the port of entry and reapply for visa and work permit?

Please help.
