Hey everyone,

I am new to this board and I have a question about traveling outside Canada during an inland application process.

This question is not about the risks traveling and returning during the process. We understand that.

Our question is that if the sponsored person returns to Canada, do they need a return ticket? Are they coming as a visitor to Canada with a return ticket?

Or do you show them the sponsorship application letters, visitor record, and inform the border agent that I just traveled outside and am returning to my spouse to continue the application process? Is it better for the spouse to return to Canada with the sponsored person after traveling outside Canada?

Thank you for all of your help and I look forward to reading your feedback.

The airline may not let them board the plane to return to Canada without a return ticket. So the issue isn't so much the border agent as it is your airline.

I see. Thank you for your reply.

Would it be best for the spouse to travel with them?

Should they inform the agent that they have an application in process? Should they show them all of the letters from CIC?

Is the point to show them that you are in the application process and show them as much proof as possible?

Thank you again for taking the time to read and reply to my post.
