Hey ,

I hope everyone is doing great.

I have enrolled for 2019 September intake and i have my VISA approval.
But my course is of 1 year length.
I did not get any other course so i had to enroll for the same.
I was planning on to enroll in second 1 year course so that i could get the 3 year PGWP.
But since rule have changed and two back to back course does not account for 3 year PGWP.

1) So if i do 2 one year program what will i be getting, 16 months or 24 months PGWP?

2) With 2 year PGWP , is it possible to get PR ?

3) Can i change my course as soon as i land to Canada with a 2 year course ?

I am so worried.
Can anyone suggest me anything asap.

Thanks in advance

1) If you study two 1 year programs then you will only get 2 year PGWP.

2) Yes, Canadian Experience Class( Express Entry ) requires 1 year experience only, also there are certain provinces that have Provincial Nomination programs (PNP) that either require less work experience or where you can apply after completing even a 1 year course.

3) You will need a confirmed offer letter from another college to ensure that your status is valid. You can either transfer from one college to another, assuming that both the college you are leaving and the college you are joining is ok with this. Alternatively, you will have to waste 1 semester fees and join the college with a two-year program in the next intake.

Thank you for replying.

Can you tell me one more thing,
IRCC has extended the cap of time for applying PGWP,
During that cap, can i search for job without applying for PGWP and applying once i get the job?

You will not have status if you don't apply for PGWP. Unless you get PGWP people will not be willing to hire you.

Thank you your reply.

It will be hard to meet all the requirements for PR with 2 years of PWGP.

What do you suggest, should i go to Canada?

Sorry, I can't make life decisions for you. If you want to go then go, otherwise don't.

Yes. If the combined length of the programs is more than 2 years then you will get 3 years PGWP.
Wait : "Yes. If the combined length of the programs is more than 2 years then you will get 3 years PGWP"

That means even if i do a program for 1.5 years,
I will be eligible.

Thanks.

No. If Both programs combined are more than 2 years then only will you get 3 years. For example 1 + 1.5 = 2.5. Since the combined total is more than 2 years you will get 3 years work permit. 1.5 < 2

Other option is to go for a single program that is of 2 years in length. That will also give you 3 years.

Passport is always required to be submitted when submitting a paper application.
