I am sorry to disappoint you, but the points are for certain classes of LMIA exempt work permits (NAFTA, Intra Company Transfers) and not all. Moreover, the points are only for those who have an offer of PERMANENT one year of full-time, non-seasonal employment, contingent upon obtaining permanent resident status.

But yes - that's a HUGE change, from permanent to one year from obtaining PR status! Finally a bone tossed to us contract workers!
