It has already been affecting current applications. These numbers are just their admission of not being able to return to pre-pandemic processing times, which they tried very hard to maintain but failed miserably. My application took 27 months. I was wondering why it took this long. Now I have to say I am relieved, because I know there wasn't anything wrong with my application, but they created false hope by publishing false processing times.

application sent at March 2021.
My test was completed on Sep 2021, still no update.
Do you think I'll wait all this time?
 
My application crossed 27 months long back. Still it’s not finalized yet!

Agree completely.
This new times says that CIC admit that can’t keep the 12 months the previous time for citizenship grant.
They want to report that they met required expectations, so raised the time span.
 
23 months for me already so not much of a difference...See my signature.
