Hello all

Just to make sure, new immigrants who are applying for the PR Card do not need to prepare the application package with the documents. Is that right? Does the immigration officer at the border prepare for us? What about photos, do we need to take 2 photos along with us?

What other documents other than passport and CoPR do we need to carry with us?

Thank you for your response.
I just did my landing 10 days ago. I carried my CoPRs and bank statements.
Following were the steps:

1) They just asked for my CoPRs and Passport.
2) Asked me some generic questions.
3) Took my Forms inside for apx 5-10 mins.
4) Came back to me and made me sign the CoPRs.

Welcomed me as a Permanent Resident and told me that it might take 3 months -4 months for the PR card to reach you.

Given CIC lists 54 days currently I'm not sure if it's good or bad CBSA are quoting 3-4 months to print and mail a piece of plastic.

Thanks for the info though, and congratulations!

I landed in Vancouver. It took a apx 15-20 mins for the complete process to take place.

PS: my flight landed at 2:30 AM in the morning so the section was pretty much empty and I was the only one there hence was quick.

We do not have to fill any form. They took care of everything. You just have to sign the CoPR in front of them and provide them with the address for mailing the PR card.

So we are not required to submit those forms in case we either import or take along with us our belongings, sometime later?

And the photo on your CoPR, is that as per the old specification or the new one (50mm X 70mm)? If it was the old spec, did the IO ask photo with the new spec?

Thank you

if you are referring to the B4 form, yes you must be filled out prior to landing. the officers aren't going to fill out the forms for you since they don't know what you are bringing in. it is your responsibility to tell them what you're bringing with you and declaring. they will finalize the forms and provide receipts. if there are things you are not bringing up with you at landing and will bring up at a later date, then you need 2 separate forms. 1 for goods coming with you and 1 for goods to follow. they are the same form, just print out 2 copies and check the "goods to follow" box for the appropriate list.

remember, not every stream of immigration is the same, so what someone would have to do to land as a skilled worker or provincial nominee may not be the same as someone landing through spousal sponsorship. basically the one thing that is constant is the COPR form and the actual landing process. what is required beyond that is specific to what stream the person is landing through.

Hi,
I got a request for new photographs for my new PR card. So I sent the photos alongside my COPR and supplementary information form. But I didn't send the request letter from CPC-Sydney. Will there be any processing delays because of this or is everything normal and under control?

we (me,my husband and my son) landed on october 30,2015 and I got my pr card in mid feb and got the new photo request for my husband and son(can not understand the logic behind this-when 3 of us had the photos with same specifiations !!!)
So we sent the new photos in march 1st week, I called cic agent two weeks ago,he said you have to wait according to current time period i.e 54 days.
Today I called again and to my surprise, agent told me that there is no update on their forms(not even about receiving new photos) and asked me to wait till END JUNE!!!!
Anyone can help me here..what can I do now?

By way of update to my earlier post, I (and my family) received our cards at around the 60-day mark after landing. As I noted earlier, I gave the officer at immigration the new larger photos (one copy per person) and the old ones on our COPRs were peeled off and replaced with the new ones. As a reminder to others bringing new photos when they land: I was NOT asked for these photos on landing, I had to offer them to the officer.
