Guys, realistically speaking: how competitive do you think this new stream it's going to be?

I see a lot of people looking forward to it but most of them are stuck with CELPIP/IELTS test dates. If both exams increase testing capacity that means it's going to be more competitive. I've seen people speculating it's going to close within minutes/hours. The immigration minister will call it "a success" in this case but those who don't get in in time are going to be so screwed if they were exclusively relying on this.

I personally think the page will collapse and the stream opening will be delayed until further notice.
I think it’ll be done in a few minutes. I hear from lots of people who are eligible for CEC that they want to apply for this too. They don’t care that they’re taking someone else’s spot.

Hi everyone,
Does anyone knows how we can find the application to fill it out?

Thank you in advance

I feel it is organized poorly. It is all last minute, and accepting the first 90 000 applications sounds like a recipe for a disaster.

How was it for OINP?

Hunger games indeed! I feel they don't even want the best 90 000 applicants. Just the fastest ones.

Guys so I got an ielts date for April 21st in Calgary. The thing is Im in Ontario, so I'd need to book a flight (its like 1600) and take a day off work. I also have another celpip date on may 15th in Toronto (which is close to me, about a 5 hours drive)

What do you guys think I should do? Wait for May 15th and hope for the best or take the flight to Calgary?

The website will be down even before they open it up. I was trying to book PCC online from Indian gov't website and the page did not load for two days. Now you can only imagine how bad the situation will be with CIC website. Since the eligibility requirements are not very clear, people who do not meet all the requirements will also try to apply.

They need to give clear instructions and eligibility criteria ASAP. It might now prevent those who are not eligible, but it would be better than this.

@Bryan02: Not sure what to tell you, but I wouldn't wait until May 15.

Oh man, I'm getting OINP PTSD here. I really don't want to go through this all over again.

I hear you. Sounds like a nightmare.

Well, my wife doesn't have a medical either so this stream might not be for us, eligibility or not. Maybe we should wait a few more months for her to become eligible for CIC. I don't know what else to say. This is beyond bad.

I agree there should be a mechanism to prevent ineligible applicants from applying. I don't see this as selfish at all. Those people don't have a chance and will be rejected anyway. Why make it more difficult for those who can get in?

Hmmm, do you qualify under all other requirements? Just the IELTS is pending??

If yes, go to Calgary, I had the same plans to get it done from any city in Canada. The more you wait, the less chances of getting into any stream.

Medicals aren't needed for May 6th.

Yea just my ielts. I don't know how competitive this would be tbh. I thought the May 15th was a good date but looking at it, I don't know what to think lol

Hello,
Based on this: Temporary public policy to facilitate the granting of permanent residence for foreign nationals in Canada, outside of Quebec, with recent Canadian work experience in essential occupations - Canada.ca

The information given is not very explanatory.. How can we apply? Are we going to create an EE profile like regular way?

I already have my ECA from my home country which is equivalent for 4 years of Canadian bachelor degree and i already have my IELTS
I also have 1+1 combined 2 year post grad certificates from a canadian college

I am currently working as a skilled worked under NOC 4163 but that NOC isn't in the list but security guards and plumbers are in the list ?????
I was normally going to wait for June in order to complete my 1 year skilled work experience and create an EE profile but this new thing confused me a lot...

Can anyone who graduated from a canadian educational institution apply to this without a 1 year skilled work experience ?

We don't know, more details will be released on May 6th. IMO this is going to be chaotic

Few minutes to submit an application for permanent residency? That's not how applications work, there are forms you need to fill and submit. There are many without all the documents and with language test options that'll just be a few extra people in the next few days/weeks.. Experts are saying this will close within the month, there was a video posted above and moving2canada experts predict the same. Plus, there will almost certainly be a condition saying you can't apply if you have already applied through CEC.
