Hello,

I'm currently in Canada (from UK) on the IEC permit. This is due to expire June 30th. I am out of the country on vacation until June 20th. My employer has a pending LMIA application to keep me on and help me apply for Express Entry. My question is, if the LMIA still has not come through by the time I am re-entering the country what is likely to happen at the POE? Will a pending LMIA and written job offer be enough to obtain a new temporary work permit? Will I be allowed back in by changing to visitor status until LMIA is approved? Is there any risk of not being allowed back in the country at all?

Fingers crossed I will have the positive LMIA by that point as it's still a month away but i'm a little nervous if not. Any advice is much appreciated!

No - a pending LMIA and written job offer won't be enough to obtain a new temporary work permit. The LMIA needs to be approved before you'll get the work permit. You can still be allowed back into Canada as a visitor - yes, there's always some chance (very small) you may not be allowed back in.
