Hello everyone,

I am about to submit my application under CEC. The PCC for my home country was issued on 24 August, 2015 from Indian consulate here in Canada. I know it's been over 6 months since issuance but I haven't visited my home country since then. Should I try to get a new PCC or the current one holds good? Also I will be visiting my home country next month, that it, after submitting my application. Will it be a problem ? Pls advice

Hi,

I submitted my application on 11th Dec 2015 but my Indian PCC was issued on 14th Nov 2014 (Over a year old) and I never visited India too

As per seniors' advice and CIC guidelines, I didn't get a new one.

It's been three months since my AOR but no additional doc requests or results so I am hopeful for the positive results. I can advise you not to get a new one and submit the old one.

That will be fine

Best luck,
Vinesh

So If our PCC is issued after we have last time visited India..And PCC is over 6 moths old, still there won't be any problem right?

Not True!!.
I had a PCC in May 2015 but when I checked i had to get a new one for my JAN ITA.
PCC after expiring is still considered invalid (Even if you haven't visted your country).
Reason is sometimes for credit issue and some other cases the criminal charge is created after a while, so you need a valid PCC.

Do not take chance by using old PCC, the bigest reason for rejections are PCC. it take 2-3 weeks and $78 to get a new one from BLS.

Good Luck with your application.

They are not issuing PCC if the work permit is expiring in 6 month..So what should we do in that case?

Did your old PCC have expiry date mentioned on it?

I didn't get a new one as on my PCC there was no expiry date mentioned and I called CIC agent before submitting to confirm if it will work and I was told that there would be no problem if you never visited your country from the date of PCC.

I submitted that one but again based on CSR's advice I cannot confirm if old PCC would work. Let's hope for the best for everyone of us :)

BLS provides PCC even if your work permit or any other permit is about to expire...I got my PCC on implied status from BLS....so don't worry about it...I know its written on their website but they do accept your application....

Well I got my passport back well under 3 weeks....that's the usual time BLS takes for the PCC....if you can be without your passport for around 3 weeks, then get the new PCC....

I am writing an exam so I will need my passport as an ID proof. After that I am leaving for India. Last time I got my passport back in 10 days but I am not sure if they would be that fast again.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/security/police-cert/intro.asp

This page from CIC site mentions that we need PCC after the last time we visited a country. I am super confused now.
