New Passport reached CHC, New Delhi - How much longer ??

Hi all. As most of you guys know, I have submitted my new passport to my consultancy who sent it to CHC, New Delhi and reached there on March 13, 2010. Today I contacted my consultant and asked to how much delay, they were saying 45 days. It will have the same effect like just after medicals. It will again be put in que at the last.

Anybody, who had undergone a similar situation, please help. Could you please tell how long it took to get your visa after such a situation. I am really tensed as I have already booked tickets for May, I know it is a gamble, but I have to take the risk.

Any thoughts are highly appreciated.

velbypaul there is no effect of passport resubmit on ur case....they will take the same time as it was before...whn the passport sent to embassy...they put them in file...n put the fixed dates for security check and visa issue...as u knw whn people receive there CAPIS notes...they have dates whn next step is goin to taken...i mean they received the fix dates for medical issue..securty check...and visa issue
so no need to worry abt that now ur case on delay....
we are on same boat....i think ur gettin ur visa soon...n m sure ur gettin ur visa before vehla_jatt coz u submited evrything before vehla_jatt

Are you from kerala....It is taking atleast 5 to 8 days for the documents to come to kerala... (as in my case)...

by which airline have you booked the tickets.... which is the best option...?

Booked Jet Airways. Kochi to Mumbai, Mumbai to London, London to Vancouver. Now almost 2 weeks have passed since my new passports reached CHC, New Delhi. I hope they process it fast.

Thanks Rocky... am still keeping my hopes high that I will get my Passport with Visa stamped pretty soon even though my consultant says it will take another 45 days for the Visa to be stamped.

Dont worry, Just keep good faith in God and stay calm....

I am sure that you will get your visas on time and will be able to travel as per your plan....

BTW, I was looking at another option to Fly.... from Cochin to Dubai, Dubai to Toronto [A380 non stop] by Emirates, only one stopover at Dubai, that too for 3 hrs.

What you guys say....?

Hmm...i don't think so. They might have put another BF'D but it cannot take 45 days. It will and should be done within this month only.

Thanks Rocky for keeping my hopes alive. Me and my wife were really getting worried about the delay in the processing. Hoping to see some positive results pretty soon.

Now the wait is getting frustrating. Its been a total of 98 days since me and my family have done our medicals. I had to wait 2 months the first time and lost 18 days (on Feb 23rd Embassy sent a mail to re-apply for a New Passport, which reached my consultant in March. Applied for a New Passport, got it and gave it back to my consultant who couriered it back to CHC, New Delhi on March 11, which reached the Embassy on March 13 is what my consultant is saying that totals to 18 days)

Now its been 16 days since it reached CHC, New Delhi and have still not received the good news. How much longer will this wait last. Moreover, have booked tickets for May too. Apart from that, my wife needs to take her IELTS before leaving. Got only 3 days of IELTS in the month of April of which the last exam will be on April 24th. Will she be able to take the test? All this is really making me crazy. Anybody, HELP !!!
