you can send them a copy of the new passport

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/contacts/web-form.asp

click on

I want to:

ask about an application that has passed the normal processing times
update or provide additional information about an application
report a technical issue
and proceed

Thanks.

I have one more question. Has anybody encountered this situation? Is it necessary that I should add my spouse in passport? What about taking PCC with my current passport? Will that affect my PR application? I have added spouse also in my profile.

For PR it is not necessary to have your spouse name on your passport, marriage certificate will suffice. However for PCC, sometimes they may ask you to get spouse name added to your passport (renewed passport).

Hi,

Please advise.

when i went for Indian PCC, they asked me to add spouse name in passport. My passport was issued in 2009 and will expire only in 2019. they said i can take pcc without reissuing passport also, but they gave my marital status as "single" in the application. hence i have took an appointment to reissue of passport with spouse name added. but is this really needed? pcc document has marital status on it? was it ok if i proceeded with current passport?

HI,

In which city did you try getting the PCC? Because in Bangalore, I heard that the spouse name in the passport is not mandatory.
Also once you receive the new passport, did you input the new passport number, because your IELTS marks will be under a different passport number.

Its better to add spouse name in your passport so that no issues will appear later while sponsoring your wife to Canada or while applying any other visas.

While filling the ITA e-apr form, you can give the new passport details. Explain in detail the change in passport on Letter of Explanation.

Scan your old passport bio pages and any visa stamped pages along with your letter of explanation.

If you have received any pnp, update the corresponding province as well.
