So my problem has not ceased. I have now received another sms that police verification has been initiated again. I dont know how it is different from the first one!!

Just make sure that you are present physically when the verification happens, come what may. You will be all set for sure.

I remember years ago when I had applied for my passport and a police verification was due, they did not show up. Rather I had to go to the police station and they basically saw my documents and cleared me. But this was to get the passport.

I'm still confused about getting your PCC. If they issued you the new passport, it should mean that there were no adverse reports against you in the first place(I'm not sure if they issue passports to some one with a criminal history).

Either way, I hope this issue gets sorted out at the earliest and you get your PCC!!

They are doing it again. Don't worry, i am sure this time they will turn around and give you a clear report as the previous reason for adverse report was just BS

I was told to apply for a new passport when i applied for a PCC as address and personal dtails had to be updated. I got the passport under tatkaal. But now the police verification has come out to be " ADVERSE ". I contacted the local police station and they showed me that they gave a clear report.

But apprently the Passport office has told the commissioners office to give an adverse report for all people who are living on rent.This is what the people at the commissioners office told me as the file moves to them after local police station.

Does anyone know about this rule and what needs to be done next? I know i cannot get the PCC if i have an adverse remark! I have searched the website to find the truth about this so called circular but cant find anything.

Hi All, I have got a adverse comment on my PCC application for India.
Upon enquiring, we learnt the “Adverse status” is from the passport office(Thane,) because of no police verification done for the passport issued on 21.01.2013.Now the passport office is wanting me to apply for a new passport for which I have to travel to India. As I am currently situated in Canada and unable to visit the passport office India in person, I would need your help and guidance in how I can clear this adverse comment. I also don't understand why the adverse comment was put on my passport with informing me or any sort of intimation.
I have got an invitation on 26/03/2018 and now left with only 42 days to apply which I cannot without a PCC.

Hi There, how did you get through this problem? and approximately how much time it took for you to get the PCC? My spouse is in a similar situation and the local police station has sent adverse report (duration of current residence is less than 1 year) to SP for passport renewal. Kindly advise

I also have an Adverse report on my and my spouse passport. I am going to file Express Entry application. Will that adverse report (issued on Jul'18) create problem while issuing the PCC (I am also in Canada rt now)?
