hello people,
I hope i'm welcome here.I am considering applying for the canadia immigration visa. I saw a thread by a 'Naija' man stating that he has picked up his visa.Congrats my brother,i hope it'll work that way for us here.

i'm a Nigerian woman living in Ghana, pls i'd like to know if it's easier to submit my application here in Accra or to do it through a lawyer. We intend to apply under the skilled worker category.
Expecting advice please. Thanks.

There is no problem getting it done by yourself in Ghana and if you have the dough you can get the assistance of an attorney. That will make document compillation and submition more professional. It is not a difficult thinh to be done by yourself. Check www.cic.gc.ca and follow the instruction. You can go through the guide before atempting to fill your form.
Good luck.

You are most welcome. You can complete the foms yourself if you have the time to first go through the instructions and the guidelines. Take out time to study the instructions from one link to another, then you are good to go. I do not believe people should use attorneys except they are going to really add value i.e get you a job in canada so as to speed up the process etc. And of course, you have this forum to explain things to you.

Canada is beautiful. It has a good education system. Standard of Livings is good. I visited Canada several times and love the country. Go on the website and read about the politics, history, culture and georgraphy of Canada. I hope you will like Canada as much as I do. Pray for guidance and pray for strength. Everything is possible so long as you have God behind you.

Hello my Naija bros & sis. am equally new in this forum and wish to drink from your wealth of experience. l've been reading this site for long but l decided not to talk becos our pple say, a chicken always stand with one leg when it gets to a new place, if familiar, it put down the other or vice versa. mot, oloye, "aunty" Abeni and a host of others, l say a big well done. may your pen never runs dry. We all shall meet to form an Association of Naija in diaspora (Canada), by the grase of God:" In shal Allah!

My question is this, l applied for the Canadian PR in July 7,2007 (Quite new) and AOR received on Nov 2007 as well with the following qualifications: HND (Acct), ACIB, M.Sc (Finance), ACMR, AMNIM my wife has B.Sc (Computer) we both are working. am a Practising Banker (Investment Banker) I have a relation in Canada though. Do l stand a chance of getting it?

Secondly, l have been travelling Abroad for my vacation for some years now; mainly to european countries, but this year l planned to visit my Aunt in Canada, with my PR file in Canadian embassy in Ghana can l be granted the visiting visa without thinking....otherwise? please "Elders" advise.

Bros,
With your information you look over qualified. There is no problem visiting Canada while your application is in process in Accra.
You warmly welcome on board.

new man,

You can visit Canada anytime, visiting visa and immigration visa are two different things as far as Canadian PR is concerned. The former you can get in Nigeria and the latter only in Accra, Ghana.

Why not you can collect your visiting visa anytime.

Best wishes

adelemama,

Better get an immigration lawyer in Canada who is on ground and have experience in such matters than getting one here in Nigeria or Ghana, I may be wrong but that's my advise

This is why l love Naija. The pple are too nice to a fault. E seun pupo. (pardon my use of local dialect). Can you imagine the way you guys took up the reply? am too happy to be a Nigerian. Can l ever forgive myself if am not a Naija? U nid to see how Naija help themselves in France, London and Ireland. Not to talk of Germany, Italy or Belgium. These are just the few l know of and l have been hearing of gud tins abt naija everywhere. Thank you so much my pple. Am too grateful.

We shall continue to wait. for most of us who have spent 3 yrs, please try and be searching for job in Canada, l heard they want to open up their economy a bit more to accommodate immigrants. lets kip d flag flying. iluv you all

Hello newman,

I think you are qualified for the PR visa. I also would suggest that you apply through PNP if you can. Moreso, you have a relation in Canada who I believe should be able to get you a PNP nomination. Why dont you explore that option.

Adelemama,
Either you apply through a lawyer in Canada or in Accra, note that:
-Your application will still be processed in Ghana as you curently reside within Ghana coverage area.
-You have equal chance as somebody that does filled and submitted his form accurately
-You will spend more if not times 2 if you use an attorney
-With attorney there will be perfection in documentation and filling (Though no fast tracking or adding any point)

I will advise that if you have the money and too busy you can use an attorney but if yo can go through the guidelines very well and you have the time, kindly do it yourself.

Also as mot said you can try PNP that will make the whole process faster.

All the best.
