Hello

I have a Canadian bf and I'm planning on to vist him with the multiple visa. Only I was hoping to stay longer then the letter he gave to me. My question is like this... If I am to say longer then my given letter then would I have a any more difficult time in comming back for a new visit? I am afraid because everyone says u can't have ties to Canada but if I stay longer then the letter says, won't they believe that I have ties to Canada possibly and deny me my next possible visits?

I have more questions but I'll wait before this one is answered.

apologies for my engl :'( lol thank u :D

Even on a multiple entry visa, you are usually only allowed 6 months and you are not allowed to just decide by yourself that you will stay longer than that. That is breaking the rules. If you are caught breaking the rules by staying longer, you can lose your visa and have a very hard time visiting in the future. The proper way to do things if you want to stay longer is to apply to extend your visit status. You can do this up to a month before your allowed time is up. They will take a while to process your application but you are ok to stay while they are processing (called implied status). You do not have to leave unless they refuse your extension.

Thank u ;D I think this answers my question. I wasn't planning on staying past 6 months without an extension, this is a big no no I know. I thought if i might stay for 3 months instead of 3 weeks like the letter said, I might get in trouble for my next visit. But in reading your response I see that I wouldn't get in trouble yes? :D thank u.

You mean you got an invitation letter that said 3 weeks? It doesn't really matter. You can always change your mind and stay up to 6 months unless the immigration officer has limited your time as you entered. Sometimes they will do that, for some reason, they may limit your time a shorter period and then you must leave once that period is up.

On to my next questions, First for the future, If I were to apply for a work permit in Canada could I go back to mexico from time to time? or would I have to stay in Canada in order for the permit to stay valid? And by valid I mean valid in Canada of course ;) Lastly, if I have a multiple entry visa would I still need a letter from my bf each time a were to come or would I be fine without one?

thx to all

Mexigirl,

Your work permit validity won't be change because you want to go to México, we have been doing that for almost 4 years; you don't have to apply for another entry visa if the one you have still valid and if it expires and you have a work permit you don't need a letter from your BF to get another one.

Cheers
