They've just changed the medical forms this month. Is anybody familiar with the new rules / system?

I just told my husband that he must get his medical done now in Algeria before I can file for Sponsorship.

He thought he could do it later. But my Document Checklist for the Sponsored Person and Family Members,
# 27 - Proof of med exam for the sponsored person and each of his dependants (original copy 2 of form IMM 1017 signed by the examining doctor).

My husband has no dependents and no other family will follow, and no other family is being left behind - except parents, siblings (ie. no spouse, former spouse, children etc)

Now I'm confused with the new changes they are showing on the CIC website

It says a new handbook will be released in Dec 2012.

Not sure about this and had my own inquiry.

Is there a form? I gave one to the doc but he kept it, assumingly to send it off. I photocopied my receipts though to send in with my inland app.

Hi JudyO.
I'm not sure about the new guides, but regarding the check list: They want everything to be send to them together to shorten the time for spouse sponsorship.
They also reccomand to pay all of the fees in advance.
And also, the medical form may change according to the country where your spouse lives.

Hi,

My hubby is from Algeria too, and his file was transferred in late May...

Could you update us?

You have to send the medicals with your application and they recommend to pay all the fees at once.

In April 2013 (when I did my medicals) they changed the process from paper medical to e-medical so that all the results can be transmitted online. Because the e-medical was new there was a lot of chaos and nobody didn't really know what was going on (at least here in Calgary) and the day I did my medicals the online system even broke down. In Calgary there are only a few clinics left who do the X-Rays and I was running around for 8 hours to get everything done. I hope for you and all the other applicants that these problems are solved now.
