i am not sure about this question as my experience i did not register my marriage in Canada herein the Philippines. I don't think its necessary.
But make sure to attached CENOMAR on your application.

OMG! just called VFS and out na daw Visa ko...iendorse na daw sa 2Go to be delivered this weekend tamang tama then by Monday punta ako CFO for the sticker its really happening!!!

Where is your destination here in Canada? I just want to share you an applicant she already arrived somewhere in quebec, and she is not allowed to change her lastname into his spouse lastname. Just sharing what I read an overview if ever that is your destination and you wanted to carry your husbands lastname

Destination is Calgary or Toronto. And i don't intend to use my soon to be husband's last name, yet. But maybe soon when we're already together, i can have it changed.

Hi Sweetpixie, maybe you mean Advisory on Marriage, that was the additional doc they requested to me. advisory on Marriage is different with CENOMAR. The history of your marriages is indicated in the Advisory on marriage, whether how many times you got married , if annulled, or divorce.

In any province except Quebec, changing your last name is a fairly straight forward procedure. The province of Quebec has its own laws that essentially disallow people to change their surname except under very special circumstances (which marriage isn't one of).

Actually when we got married in Canada they didn't us required CENOMAR, was our Lawyer told me to get CENOMAR back in Philippines for completing the Spousal Application requirements. My husband and i are never been married before. Sorry for confusing you guys

Me too, I didn't use my husband surname yet as I don't want to deal with stressful process here and there...

Thanks Raecy and Tubbateena!!!! actually ako din i didnt change my name pa...pero sa CFO/GCP cert ko last name na ni spouse...which is okay lang daw kasi if ever daw na bumalik ako ng Pilipinas and nachange na name ko sa passport and I am still a PR holder...i have to attend CFO again if gagamitin ko padin maiden name...coz di ako ppyagan umalis ng bansa

Sabi naman nila that document is for Philippines Immigration requirement only and Canada doesnt care/ even know about it...
