Hi everyone,

I informed our VO through email, that our mailing adress has changed. Still no update of the new adress on ecas. How long does it usually take until they update the adress?

Hi,

Ecas can be really slow for updates. Have you tried making the address update directly on ecas?

I guess I did, I visited the cic website and sent an email directly from there to my VO.
Yes, it's possible.
When you log on to your ecas, you should see your name at the top and your address below.
Something like this,

Your current home address

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
XXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Canada
XXXXX

Update this home address

Just click on update address
then, it will say:
"This on-line service allows Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) clients to submit an address notification or change of address on-line, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

You may use this on-line service if:

your case is being processed in Canada;
your address is in Canada;
you are moving within three weeks;
you have not been requested to report your change of address in person to your local office."

I'm sure you can follow the rest of the steps...

Thanks, but I can't update it, since our application is done outland. Anyone else knows how long outland VOs need to update the adress?

I wouldn't worry about it too much; same issue with our case. But if you get the GCMS notes they will definitely show that they received the letter, just that they haven't gotten around to changing the address / didn't feel like doing it. Took us I think a couple of months...

Hi stevelo, I remember you moved with your spouse to Canada,
we just arrived and thank God, no problems at Immigration. I'm still uncertain about whether the border officer could see that my husband's PR is still in process or not? What do you think?

our border officer didn't even bother to look at the computer. but he did take an awful long time before he came to say 'hi' to us even if we were at the front of the line. so i would suspect he made his decision before he even started to chat by digging up the computer info. i have heard they can see everything.
