New job offer

Hello,

I just arrive to Calgary about a month ago with a work permit, the company that I work for is great but I just received a job offer from a different company in Kamloops, BC. which does the kind of work I used to do in my country. The LMO I was given is for a low skilled worker, the position that I have been offer is as a preparation manager for geochemical services for the mining industry, if I were to take the offer would it be possible for me to quit my current job and accept the new one? as far as I know the company that is offering me the job hasn't received a new LMO which I would imagine it should be a LMO for high skill worker, is it even possible? if it is what are the steeps that the company offering me the new job and myself need to take to make it happen?

1. You need a new approved LMO from the company, then if issued, you apply for a new work permit. YOu can't start work until you have the new work permit in hand.

Congratulations on that Job offer. First, you will need to have a LMO for that job position (this will be provided by your prospective employer) then, have an Employment contract with your prospect company. The LMO will require a lot of waiting time (I waited for 6weeks for mine to be released), so i suggest, while your LMO for your prospect company is still not available, keep your existing job. then just re-apply for a new work permit once all your requirements are complete. i think you have to give a (at least 1 week?) written notice to your 1st employer before resigning.
