IRCC PORTAL
All forms are filled online, no pdf filling. You only have to submit your personal documents. All other Application forms are web based.
New System, IRCC recommends apply through it but it doesn't have any advantage over GCKEY.

GCKEY
Old system, you gotta fill the pdf documents yourself and then apply.
Recently GCKEY applicants are getting quick approval compared with IRCC Portal.

According to IRCC, No difference in both. Applications submitted through any of it will be processed accordingly. That's all.

Exactly.

Hello, I just received an email from the immig asking me to pay the biometrics again. I have already completed my biometrics last March 5, 2021, and from my understanding, they are valid for 10 years. My biometrics are not linked to my second application yet and they gave me a different UCI. (not the ones that I received during my first application and which I included in the documents I submitted in my second application).

Has anyone else experienced this?

Timeline is as follows:
1st TRV app: March 2, 2021 (gckey)
Biometrics completed: March 5, 2021
2nd TRV app: Sept 18, 2021 (gckey)

Decision: Waiting, nothing changed in my gckey account other than they ask me to pay biometrics again

When re-applying, you must give your UCI and Application No of first TRV application. Also, you have to say you've done biometric.

mexico! I think you have to wait from 15 to 20 or if you are lucky you can get it faster. Good luck and all the best for your family
Thanks for the reply!

Did you get any updates in the profile before PPR?

Hello, so I’m in canada on pgwp and I applied for trv since march 21, and eligibility not reviewed yet. I need to travel out of canada soon, do you suggest re-applying… as I dont fall under the reunification clause for the people re-applying. Thanks

Advised to reapply.

You’ll hear from us within 14 to 30 business days”

Just a random thought: IRCC guys could have simply written “you’ll hear from us within 30 days”. So thinking why did they mention “14 to 30”, I am beginning to guess portal might take a minimum of 14 and maximum of 30 business days. Again, my random guess and this might not be correct. Only the person who wrote it and the person who approved it might know. :)

You may be right.

I can see people getting decisions on the same day when eligibility review starts. My application's eligibility review started 5 days back but no update since then. Applied second time through GC key on 17th Sep.

Anyone else with similar timelines?

I applied first time via GC KEY in Dec 2020 & 2nd time via portal on 13th Sept 2021. I am spouse of Canadian PR holder and looking to reunite.

No response till date on either of the applications except biometric which I completed in july 2021. I just wish that I too get some news about it. I see people who applied after me are getting PPR not sure why they are skipping my application.

Hello, thanks for the response. My 1st application details are all included in client information document that I submitted. I also included the UCI in the UCI section of the forms. So no idea why I was given a different UCI and my biometrics aren't linked yet til now.

Same situation.. applied on 11th still no update..

hope that we get a response soon. I was also thinking to file a third application via GC key but iam holding back since its not yet 30 days for my 2nd application.

Hoping someone could help.
I am planning to apply for a visitor visa. Both of my parents are in Canada holding work permits.
Reason: To reunite with family. What home ties or documents should I present?
