Hi there,

I read an article on new immigration system on CBC.

A lot of details missing.

This is interesting but without much details provided, can't really comment much. Reducing processing time is always a bonus. But I believe matching candidates to jobs(CIC described it as a dating site) would lead to a lot of rejections or long wait times for people who are skilled but cannot be matched to a job when they express interest in moving to Canada as a PR. They are trying to make lots of changes to Immigration and Citizenship...why don't they focus on clearing backlogs and reducing processing times for applications that they have on their desk!! Too much politics involved. Just my 2 cents

Based on current trends the processing time for CEC has picked up some pace. With regards to the article, they are looking @ 2015 to implement new strategies which they hope would reduce processing time to 6 months or less.

Canada is torturing people by keeping them wait 2 years.. many of whom have to sit their plan for life and next years but cant because they do not know if they will come here or go somewhere else.. the new system will make employers hire recommeneded people only instead of being fair .. it will have more bias..
they are talking about cutting time down to 6 months to compete with other countries , yet thia three times more than the processing for Australia.. the government is trying to get more votes in the coming elections.. that's about it

This is actually making tougher for the people who want to immigrate to Canada. This is a bad news for a lot of people.

So technically if you acquired skills that are not needed you can't apply. Wait time will be cut in half because the number of applicants will be cut in half. In other words come 2015 getting a PR through the said classes will be difficult
