New immigrants to quebec get a french course?

Hi everyone
Can Anyone answer this please... My husband applied for inland sponsorship in Quebec. I received both open workpermit case 27, and CSQ on the basis of "that" error mail by CIC(27-2-15). Now the question is, can I enroll for full time French language course offered by Quebec Govt. on the basis of these 2 docs only.

I really wish there were more French learning options for me here in Southeastern Ontario. In my field (nursing), most jobs prefer bilingual applicants. I've been doing Babbel and Duolingo online, but I want something a bit more intensive. Anyone know of anything available for people outside of Quebec?

yes, all newcomers (PRs) have access to FREE french classes. You will want to look up CLIC/LINC. CLIC is the french program, and LINC is the english program. Most of the programs are full time, though there are some part time classes available (i would imagine it depends on your area). You will want to find the assessment center in your area to sign up for classes. I would also recommend asking a settlement agency in your area for a referral to the program if you can't find it yourself. here is the info on the CIC site:

Thanks. It looks like they don't offer CLIC courses in Kingston, ON, where I am located. The nearest is in Ottawa.. nearly 2 hours driving. Maybe by the time I get my PR, they'll have started one up here. Crossing my fingers.

Hi there,

I was applying for free French course on this site:

However, there was one required question for Home telephone; but I did not fill that information in the form when I applied for CSQ as we don't have Home telephone (I tried to put my mobile number as well as my husband's mobile number but it didn't work) -> then I could not complete the form. Can I contact some Department to fix this problem? Any answer will be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

There may be French courses offered by the local college, university or Alliance Française. Most people don't have access to free courses especially to improve their language skills for work purposes. Some employers do provide subsidies if you are improving your skills.
