Hey all,

Speaking of a new form, I have a question about sending the old form and possibly getting the application returned because of that.

I applied on April 10, and at that time the updated version was CIT002 (02-2014). However, as I had already filled out the form on Jan 2014, I sent the oldest version of the form, which was CIT002 (09-2013). It's been 42 days since they received my application, and I haven't heard back from Sydney yet. But the fact that you guys are saying they'd possibly send the application back if one uses an old version makes me worried a bit.

How long do you think it would take if they are to return an application?

Thanks.

The original query/heads up as I understand was for those who mailed their Feb 2014 form pre the recent May 2014 form release. Anyone applying post the new May 2014 form release is well advised to use the recent version.

1. Application returns seems to be anywhere between 7-10 weeks though they may be outside the 10 week range by some margin.

2. CIC ought to have an archive of forms. You should have made a copy of the application you submitted - compare it with the form you ought to have used and see what the difference is. From memory 2014 forms had a different address and absences format (more details i.e DD/MM/YY) as well as requirement of more documentary evidence of residence. I think you got yourself into a real situation and it may get ugly! Hopefully if anything comes back its a letter asking for the missing stuff not a return of the entire package!

Thank you, Msafiri, for your reply. Well, the only difference is in part 6F. In the new version two questions have been added for work and education that need to be ticked off in addition to the detailed history of work and education listed in the table.

Everything else seems to be the same. I guess I have to wait to see what will happen or maybe call them and ask.

Cheers.

Phewww! Thank you so much.

My interpretation is similar to yours in that the normal default position for citizenship would be that based on Q4A pertaining to your country of birth. If due to nationality laws your country of birth is not that of your only nationality it would be sensible to put the actual nationality in Q6C - I would add a note such as 'sole citizenship of x by descent and not citizen of y by birth'. Relax if you have only the one nationality/ citizenship then answering 'no' is not an issue.

I sent my application form May 23rd. but today I found the CIT0002 was updated on May 21. I sent the old one (02-2014).I choose " yes "in 9D session. Will mine be rejected?
