Siblings will definitely come this year as changes will be ongoing as said, probably near year end so that the Minister has something to say when making his year-end speech that they fulfilled their promise.

Hope French comes too. So impatient!

For the last time, you can already immigrate with just French and get extra points for French. Get over it.

Skills Transferability changes

1. Level of foreign education & Language

b. 25 points for post secondary credential (1 year or more) & CLB 9 or higher in all areas.
c. 25 points for 2 or more degrees/Masters/PhD & CLB 7 or higher in all areas with one or more areas below CLB 9.
d. 50 points for 2 or more degrees/Masters/PhD & CLB 9 or higher in all areas.

2. Level of foreign education & Canadian work experience

a. 13 points for post secondary credential (1 year or more) & 1 year of CWE.
b. 25 points for post secondary credential (1 year or more) & 2 or more years of CWE.
c. 25 points for 2 or more degrees/Masters/PhD & 1 year of CWE.
d. 50 points for 2 or more degrees/Masters/PhD & 2 or more years of CWE.

3. Level of language & Foreign work experience

a. 13 points for 1/2 years of FWE & CLB 7 or higher in all areas with one or more areas below CLB 9.
b. 25 points for 1/2 years of FWE & CLB 9 or higher in all areas.
c. 25 points for at least 3 years of FWE & CLB 7 or higher in all areas with one or more areas below CLB 9.
d. 50 points for at least 3 years of FWE & CLB 9 or higher in all areas.

Maximum possible points on Skills Transferability remains 100 (max of 50 in each section).

Based on this we can get 50 max points for each of 3 sections above and 100 total max. The reason I am asking is, in the previous system, you can get 50 max points for section 1 and 2 and 50 max points for 3 and 4. I could never score in section 3 and 4. If they are giving max 50 for section 1 and max 50 for section 2 as per new rules, I think I can score pretty good. Can anyone confirm if you have an idea on this?

Thank you very much.

They are the same as before, they have just changed the wording and added in masters for clarity. The points are identical.

So this means. If I am getting 50 in section 1 and 25 in section 2, I can't get 75 total; I can only score 50 total out of 100. Is that correct?

It says it remains 100 max. So you'll get the same as before depending on your skills.

I am afraid you are right.

Hmm, I am on an indeterminate LMIA exempt job (code C31, under R205), employer National Research Council. Looks like I will get 50 points to push my total to ~520. Now, hope the next cut-offs are not over 600 LOL

I am wondering, does Ontario Nominee Program also change from 600 points to 50 points? Or it remains the same?
