Dear friends,
I sent a Case specific enquiry to New Delhi Visa Office, through the web link :-

https://dmp-portal.cic.gc.ca/cicemail/intro-eng.aspx?mission=new delhi

As I have already received a 2nd AOR and status of my application is RBVO since the last 2 months, I wanted to update VO about the change in my family circumstances. I wanted to inform VO about birth of a baby boy and hence used the Case Specific Enquiry to update the family composition. I clearly mentioned my file number, my son's name, his date of birth, my address and D.O.B etc. I also enclosed as attachments, scanned copies of the following :-
1) my son's birth certificate
2) Fee of CAD $ 150 payable to Receiver General for Canada
3) Updated family information forms signed by both me and my wife
4) fee payment form duly signed
5) Photograph (jpeg image) of my son

Further, I explained Visa Office that since I have applied for my son's passport and have not received it, I would be sending copies of that to Visa Office As Soon As Possible (on its receipt) and asked Visa Office about the procedure to follow in order to add the new born to the application. (I have been guided by friends and seniors on this forum about the procedure, but yet I posed this question to Visa Office in order to gain some time to obtain the infant's passport while they reply back with the procedure )

But heyy....unfortunately, the Visa Office seems to be sleeping and ignoring all communication from the applicants...To my amazement, I got a reply on my email within a couple of hours of sending the Case Specific Enquiry which is as follows :- This is a very general acknowledgement :-

Dear 229334,
A polite request to you....please read my post carefully 1st and if you have already read it...just reply to my question :-
Dont you think that I should have updated a change in my family composition to the Visa Office??

Dear Juner,

As far as I know, they will reply only if your enquiry is related to proceesing period or any other thing. In case of updating ur family status or change of address, they will not reply. but they will consider your information and update it with ur record.

I have updated my change of address and I didnt get any response. but it was updated in my Ecas.

We could see only change of address in Ecase, but not the family changes.

Thank you very much vnca for easing some tension :)

Dear Juner 2011
please keep checking your spam as well for email from
NDVO. I had also sent a case specific enquiry and I got a reply almost 20 days later and it was in the spam.

Dear Gopi,
Thank you very much for sharing your experience....I am also monitoring the spam folder of my mailbox carefully, but I havent received a reply yet even though it has been more than 38 days since I submitted my Case Specific Enquiry to update my family composition...
As pointed out by vnca above, they do update/consider things on our request, but dont inform us (they just update the file)...
Which makes me feel that isnt this thing be called as a procedural lapse on part of CIC?? Technically, we are clients of CIC (as CIC calls us) since we pay a service fee for the processing that CIC does on our cases and as I understand, CIC follows a proactive disclosure policy, then it means CIC should at least revert back with a reply to applicant's query in a reasonable time frame and inform him/her that his/her request/information has been considered and the file thus been updated !!
Such a reply would put most wandering minds at rest and allow them the opportunity to do more good work for their own selves and the society at large !
But sadly, we are not informed and we all keep sulking in the dark while making speculations about our case (sadly this is the scenario with u, me and almost everybody out here)..
Personally speaking- if CIC actually did inform applicants about their case status honestly, assuringly and objectively, in a clear way- then I am certain that our respected senior members would be left with just half the burden of replying to queries and would be able to concentrate more on constructive things like forming groups region/province wise to help new immigrants in all possible ways like jobs, settlement issues etc. - DONT OTHERS THINK SO ??But since we all want that coveted maple leaf on our passports-- we dont seem to be in a challenging mode to CIC ever and this situation is in such a case, is here to stay !!
