Hi Stev,
yes, security checks get done quickly if one hasn't left the shores of the home country especially India...
But if we have lived abroad, the checks does take lot longer since the security checks are out sourced

but surely the visas are on the way... just need to keep faith.
This week truly has been better than last and this month has been way better than Jan...

best of luck to all

Hi All,

Just 1 query. When they do background checks,POF checks and other checks before medicals or after medicals ?

Looking at the recent happenings, I think ND VO has changed it's mode of operation (especially after we saw 2 rejections post medical & PRR).

I think now they will complete all background & security checks before issuing medicals, like we can see many people coming to In Process, but none have received medicals yet.

Previously they were doing this stage simultaneously with medicals.
So we might see now applicants getting Visas faster after submission of Passports.

Thanks Dear for clarification. 1 more doubt my passport is due for renew in next year and if till that tiem i don't get visa and i have new passport as well then (1) do i need to send new passport for visa purposes (2) and do i need to inform ND VO also after getting new passport?

I didn't quite understand your query. However you can renew your current Passport & apply for a new one anytime within 6 months of expiry.
You can send new Passports for Visa stamping, it's OK.

@ nsukan and CAPR
can we add a y/n column for foreign travel history in the tracker so that we can determine the average waiting time in both types of cases ?

Not sure that every one will be comfortable for Travel history Y/N.
NOC code is probably is a good thing to have it in tracker, but may be if you could volunteer to collect that info and provide it collectively, we are ok with it. :)

So the FBI Fringe print is just a formality, they are still going to do background Check
Just loosing hope

Any ways what happened in your case you directly received by postman, or you already know that postman was coming

I mean every tuesday the ecas updates , you were already know that the decision was made for you and then after you got passport after 1week

There is no reason to lose hope if all information one provides to VO is correct. They have their own system of verification. Foreign travel history, recent marriage, borderline POF are some of the issues that could lengthen the verifications process. Ideally, they should complete everything before PPR. Wait after passport submission is very annoying. But these are the hassles one usually encounters being from a third world country.
