Dude..i got mine last week and eCas still hasnt changed. Dont even worry about eCas. In a lotta cases it gets updated after receipt of visas. As I said yours is not far away man..

Agree with canaspirant,

Sandeep don't worry brother, and let's not totally rely on e-cas.. keep your morale high.. and don't be too anxious (I know its easier to say than follow).. But I will wait for good news from you in a week or two.. Best Wishes my friend..

Hi mg78

Did you get any AOR after re-submitting your passport to NDVO?

Mine was also re-submitted due to short validity to NDVO last week? I did not get any AOR till yet. Although it was received by NDVO last week, as per courier tracking status.

Regards

I second you, our lives are revolving around the wait for the change of status. We have better better things to do in our life, and the only thing missing is the "Decision Made" ticket.

Hi friends,
Back on forum after a long time!

I landed in ottawa on 7th may. The immigration process on airport was really simple. The immigration officer checked the COPR documents and cross-checked the details with us. Then asked about how much cash we were carrying; made us sign on the COPRs; then stapled a copy on the passports and directed us to customs officer. The customs officer was pleased to see the list of items prepared by us and did not do any further checking except for few simple questions and then we through to the exit door!!!!!!!.

I spent the first few days getting the SIN no, bus passes, bank accounts, etc. One important thing -on airport i was asked if i had a permanent address. I did not have, so i was told to fax a form to a given number. Unfortunately the number did not work out but i discovered that i can update the address online at the cic website and thats what i did. For the health card u need a concrete address proof which i currently dont have; so i have to wait for a month till i get my bank statement. Regarding bank account, I got one at Scotia bank with no monthly rental and mimimum 0$ balance!! Its a Startright program offered only by them to immigrants. At RBC and TD they charge around 4$ monthly for an account and TD requires 1000$ minimum balance. This is no marketing just my experience. One thing i must say the people at the government offices are extremely polite and helpful!

Now my job hunt is on. I wish congrats to all those who got visa and all the best to those waiting.

Thanks for sharing info. what does it mean by "cross-checked the details"?

Hi Sandeep,
No AOR is sent by CHC when you resend your passport. Courier tracking is quite accurate. As per my calculation after you resubmit your passport, 1st week the processing team does verification and validity and in the next 2 weeks the officer rechecks everything and then taken a decision. The other finding is passport seems to be cross checked and validated after medical is ok, to reduce time.

Thanks MG
