Agree. We shouldn't give our hopes. Our days will come and keep hoping and be positive. Please try to concentrate in some other things for now.

@ tim50

GAV,

All of us can understand your frustration in waiting as we gone through the same. The timelines are case to case different and we can stop comparing. This tracker is only for a rough estimation, as ANKIT said many times.

But nothing more than a good wait is possible from our end. Visiting CHC directly may or may not provide the positive result. Are you sure you want to take chances now? I remember in one case, they returned the passport since the applicant asked (with out stamping) and it was to be sent again later for stamping. Your visit may not speed up the process time.

I remember, following is your timelines.

Name : Gav
File Transfer : 27-Jan-10
In Process: 05-Oct-10
Med Req : 01-Oct-10
Med Done : 13-Oct-10
PP Submit : 14-Oct-10

Why dont you consider adding it in the tracker again, for Good Luck. :)
Are you sure you sent just mail or case specific enquiry?
CAIPS notes is defenitely an option to start at, nothing we lose.

nsukan

Good luck to every one.

I hope this week comes out to be a spectacular week for everyone waiting and my prayer for GAV will be answered

I have booked tickets to Toronto for me and my wife on 24 April, 2011 Sunday

With best wishes
Stev

NO if PR is lost you have to reapply for PR card not PR all over again if you are in Canada
If you are outside of Canada, then you apply for PRTD. PRTD is issued based on staisfaction of VO.

The case that we are discussing here is though not lost PR but where PR does not get issued because of any reason like photos not to specs. IF PR card is lost in post then it is problem again, because PR card should not be sent via postal service

Photos not to the specs? They don't ask for(or click) any photos at POE. Photos we send along with passports in response to PPR are obviously as per specs. I can't understand how this problem regarding photos arises. And is there any law that prohibits sending PR cards through post? Or through an acquaintance?
Of course, it is best to wait for PR cards before leaving Canada. But for some people that may mean spending extra money and time. Only the concerned individual can decide whether the wait is really worth it. My contention is that there is now way VO can refuse PRTD even if one leaves Canada without PR card and is not able to get one because of any reason. How can Canadian government treat immigrants as captives? One is at liberty to leave Canada at the time of one's choice and then return.

And is there any law that prohibits sending PR cards through post? Or through an acquaintance? - I read at many places that you should not send it via posts, but could not find any such restriction on CIC website. I would say it may not be illegal after reviewing the website again, but better safe than sorry

Hello guys,

My son's PP is expiring on Nov 17th. The canadian visa is also valid upto Nov 17th. I believe that the PP should be valid for atleast 6 months from the date of issue of the ticket. Meaning he has to travel before May 17th (6 months before Nov 17th)

Is this rule applicable even though the visa is already issued? Can somebody advice please?

I can of course get it renewed, but then, the current PP will be stamped as cancelled and a new PP issued. The new PP will not have the VISA.

I am confused. :-\ What if there is a problem at the immigration, if they say that he is travelling on a visa which is on a cancelled PP.

Friends, please advice.
