To my understanding, eventhough you apply for a new passport for no empty sheets, your existing visas in old passport numbers will be valid only. You need to always carry old passports also. I carry 3 of them. You can apply for new one by Takkal. Pls check with others too.

I do not have any blank page now in my passport and needs to take up two foriegn trip before I land up in Canada.

Is it OK if I get new passport....? The current one still has valididty of more than three years. My worries is passport number, as it is mentioned on visa and other landing documents.

Can any one help me in this......?

08 first Medicals on 3rd June, Second on 29th december. Passport req on 21 may, first sent on 04 June and sent again on 30th Dec (recalled to add Son's PP)
09 Working in canada and has requested for a special speed up to return to Canada with VO.
10 First Medical request & passport request - 20th May 2010.Requested for the postponment as they were expecting their first baby
11 Query1 solved and send: 27 nov 2010. Last query (2) solved and send: DEC 15 2010.
12 mailing address missing with ND, sent again
13 got re-medical to spouse on 21st Jan 2011 ( sputum test, expected to take 45 days more)

Contact passport office. They will either attach blank pages to old passport or issue new passport. Old passports having valid visas should remain attached to the new passport. Landing papers bearing old passport no. won't be an issue.

CONGRATS Vidya... on our visa. Even if u get a new pp (with new no.) it's always mentioned that the pp holder traveled on the previous pp ### and it has been returned with valid visas... I have traveled that way to the US new blank pp and with the valid H1B on my expired pp... so no issues... I would think...

What I see is the waiting period (from PP submission to receiving Visa) varies from 20 days to more than 120+ days.. So is there any factor like foreign travel history or something else making the process delayed??

Please share your knowledge..

The answer is 'no one could predict the timelines'. If you have submitted PCC for countries with long stay and your foreign travels may be a factor but unless we have similar cases compared, we cannot say that. Hope you have travel history.

Again no one can predict, but looking at current speed of CHC you may not need to wait for more than 50-60 days.

they r right.
normally travel history matters as chc takes police clearence from that particular country too u have visited.
i have no travel history and my medical was done in last week of oct, and still waiting for visa.
chc is very much unpredictable.
some people r getting visa after 20 days of medical and some r waiting for long long time.
keep praying and just wait.

I can understand how much it hurts to wait for things to happen at this stage.. Too close still too far..
I ll really pray for you and others as you people deserves visa sooner than me.. but this wait is killing..
