My spouse would be landing soon in Canada and he’ll be bringing money with him. It is less than $10,000. He will declare the amount at border but does he need proof funds as well for it?

I need help and guidance from you guys. I got married to a man from my religion and country (very distant relatives) in December 2016. I started his sponsorship procedure in March 2017. Yesterday, he had an interview at the High Commission of Canada in Delhi and unfortunately the officer refused his Visa saying the relationship did not seem genuine.

Has anyone been through a similar case? If yes, what steps have you undertaken to fix it? ANY HELP would be greatly appreciated.

Not really. They just asked him a lot of questions, as to why I didn't visit him after the civil marriage, why no one apart from my mom was present there...etc. And the final answer was that the relationship is not genuine .

There is a discussion in this forum with Title "ALL SPOUSE APPEAL CASES COME HERE AND JOIN US PLZ". Ask somebody over there and review earlier posts to gain the information how to appeal the rejection. I doubt anybody here had any experience like this.

My application was received on 7th March 2018 and got an email on April 27th, 2018 saying application has been sent to visa office in New Delhi.

On my gckey it shows background check in process. Any idea what is happening? How long does the file take to pass in New delhi? I've been reading people's comments saying they take about a year. And some people have been waiting since june last year after their file was sent to new delhi.

Can anyone please advise.

Only because of this fake marriages and frauds we genuine marriages are suffering
