Hello Everyone ,
I am june 27 applicant . I ordered GCMS notes on dec 19 and I received my notes back on 24 jan 2017 . they say my Paper file was transferred to FCU-CA room on 16th Jan 2017 . and I checked under GCMS forum , it says FCU-CA ( is family class unit - criminality assessment ) after this there is a stage called FCU-DIS ( decision making and then FCU-RFV ( ready for visa )
does anyone have any idea once file is transferred to FCU-CA how long does it take for further checking . have anyone faced this issue ?
This is quite detailed of an information, which i have seen on this thread for the first time. Thanks for sharing it.......no clue on the times lines

I see that Indian citizens are mostly getting ppr on a 6 months basis. I guess ours will take more due heavy background checks. Let's hope we will get it soon :)
Good luck

Hi everyone,

I am Indian citizen living with my husband (sponsor) in the US, and my PR application is with the New Delhi Visa Office right now. I sent an upfront medical exam report (Meds passed) along with the application, which expires on 29th September, 2017. I have a few questions for which I couldn't really find concrete answers, hope I can get some help here.

1) Since I would need the medicals to stay valid until the day of my landing, and since there is no further update on my application, do you suggest I do a medical in around June- July? Or should I wait for them to get back to me? I am just worried that I might not be able to arrive in Canada before 29th Sept, with the PPR and the other processes well finished before that date.
2) Since my application is with the NDVO, I will get the PPR (whenever that happens) to send the passport to NDVO, correct?
3) Can I directly go the NDVO to get my passport stamped, if I get the PPR? I will be in India during August- September, so if I get the PPR during that time period, I would prefer going directly to the office and getting it immediately stamped, if that is possible.
4) After I get the PR stamp on the passport, can I drive from the US to Canada, as it is only a 3 hr drive away from where we live? Or is it mandatory to "land" through an aircraft? If I can drive through the land border, do I just go to the Customs and Border Protection office there and show them the documents? There is no requirement for an appointment with the Immigration office, is there?

The current timeline of my application is:

1) PR application received- 17th Oct, 2016
2) AOR1- 8th Nov, 2016
3) AOR2- 21st Nov, 2016
4) Medicals- received (and passed)

Thank you in advance
First of all on a very light note, PLEASE DONT LEAVE THE US, YOU MAY NOT BE ABLE TO GET BACK IN :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

1. Your medicals will expire 1 yr from the date when they were done. So please don't get re-medicals done in June or July. Wait for them to come back to you, you may not need it in the end. If your medical expires before the PPR request comes in they will surely as you to get re-medicals. And if you get a PPR request before Sept 29th, your VISA expiry date will be the same as the expiry date of your medical. In that case YOU MUST enter Canada. NO EXCEPTIONS

2. Yes, once you receive PPR, call CIC and request them to have the stamping done at a local Office close to your city in the US.

3. You cannot go to NDVO, they wont entertain you. They have a process setup with VFS and only VFS can walk in and out and take care of the Visa stampings.

4. Yes you can surely "land" using a "land" border and or "land" using an "aerial" route. (See what i did here :D :D :D :D :D)
You dont need an appointment. Just drive upto the post and they will ask you to step inside the office and grant you a welcome entry for your immigration.

Hello frnds...
Can someone plz tell me how long should I wait after I send the additional documents...?? this wait is getting worse day by day... Kindly advice if I should call NDVO just to make sure they received the documents??

Surely you can call them to make sure they have received your documents.

1. Wait for them to get back. You will most likely get a PR before.
Okay. Hope it happens that way. :)
2. Correct. But if you are outside India, you could request them to submit your passport to a different VO.
How do I request them to change to a different VO? I couldn't find any contact number that can be used outside Canada :(
3. No. In India, you will have to use VFS to send your passport for stamping.
Any idea of how long that usually takes, if I went up to VFS in person?
4. Yes, you can use any border crossing or airport.
Thanks!!

Okay. Yeah in that case I should hope it doesn't get too close to 29th I guess.

Is there a number to call CIC from outside Canada? Or should I go the email route?

3. You cannot go to NDVO, they wont entertain you. They have a process setup with VFS and only VFS can walk in and out and take care of the Visa stampings.
Okay, and VFS takes a fee and some time for this procedure I assume?
4. Yes you can surely "land" using a "land" border and or "land" using an "aerial" route. (See what i did here :D :D :D :D :D)

Hello
I am born and brought up in Delhi.. I did my post graduation from Chandigarh for 2 years. I submitted the required PCC to the embassy after it was requested. After doing MP enquiry I found out that the embassy hasn't received it and I emailed the scanned copy of the PCC to the embassy. My representative forwarded me the email today, like after a week it was sent by the embassy and the email says that I have to submit the PCC for the county /state where I have lived for a period of more thabu6 months.
My question is.. Do I have to submit a COCk from Chandigarh police as well??

PCC from country you lived for atleast 6 months and more. so if you have submitted PCC from India ( PCC issued from passport office or local SP office) so you are good.

Call CIC on the general help line. Its a 1-888 number which can be dialed from Canad OR USA or anywhere else (as long as you have a Vonage or VOIP phone) from North America.
