My husband landed YESTERDAY! After one full year he is finally here in Canada :) Process was quick in Halifax (we are in Halifax) but for those who are going elsewhere it might be worth landing in Halifax and connecting to a domestic flight to elsewhere in Canada, as being small international airport, they are not so busy here and they are less picky on things. Just a thought as I know most people usually land in Toronto, and immigration process there is way longer. For my hubby it was 15 mins to get everything done for paperwork for landing.

Hello Everyone,

Two things -

1) I have already submitted the file and it has reached NDVO. And I guess from here now my waiting time begins. So I have decided to apply TRV for my wife. Has anyone here applied for TRV after submitting spousal sponsorship file?

2) In case she gets TRV and my wife comes to Canada, and after coming to Canada if she gets passport request, what is the procedure then? Does she need to get back to India and come or we can take USA visa and go there and come back?

Please give your valuable advice.

Thanks and regards,
A Waiting Husband

Hello Awaiting Husband,

Welcome to the forum.

1. Please wait for TRV application till you get AOR2, which is an acknowledgement email from NDVO which tells you the UCI number for your wife's file. Also do mention this number on her TRV form once you apply it. This way the NDVO or the IRCC will have full disclosure that she is an immigration candidate.

2. If she gets a PPR for stamping her immigration stamp while in Canada, you can approach CIC with in Canada to have that stamping done at any of the CIC office in Canada whichever is the closest one to you in your city. You do not need to go to the US.

Hope this helps and answers your questions. Feel free to drop in lines when ever you have updates to share and after 10 posts your options will appear in your profile to fill in the details to share with us your time as a profile signature. Feel free to update those as well.

Regards
Another awaiting husband ;D

Respect !!!

Thanks a lot for the prompt reply.

I have got the AOR2 and as you said I will mention this while applying for TRV.

Have you applied for the TRV?

Nope, i haven't. I am a July applicant or rather my wife is a July applicant and i am waiting to see how things unfold by Feb late. I am hoping as per the current trend in this forum which is 7-10 months on an average people are getting stamps in their passports. Plus its a very slippery slope with TRVs where in your file has to be in a certain status of Background check or Eligibility in process where in the verification in on going and then only you have higher chances of getting approved. And there have been people who have been denied TRV on the first two attempts but became victorious on their third. So its like a Russian Roulette.

Good luck and let us know how things go....
