Hi!
Does anyone know when CIC and NDVO are going on vacations? I've been trying to check it online and it only shows 26 and 27Dec and 25th is a Sunday and 1st Jan is again Sunday, so it shows 2nd Jan as holiday. But someone in the forum was saying that they're going on holidays from 20th till first week of Jan.

Hi, have read your posts and feel for your situation.

Just a few thoughts, could it be that GCMS notes doesn't fully capture any concerns they may have? Not all Visa officers write down everything about a case in them. From what I understand, you belong to the armed forces in Canada and your husband runs an NGO in Kashmir, you were also married in Sept 2015 and spent 3 weeks together.

Since the three weeks you spent as a married couple, have either of you visited each other? Or have you sent additional proofs of on-going communication etc? It may help your case if they are having any doubts (this is just conjecture on my part, there may be no concerns and it's just stuck in process until the final review is done) as each case is unique and none of us really know the criteria NDVO uses when they review each case. Maybe a follow up query from your MP may help understand why it's taking so long.

Hope you get some good news soon!

Yes u r right ...the list shows holiday on 26th nd 27th Dec nd then 2nd jan...don't know if its the same for NDVO as well...wish NDVO clears all the May applications in Dec and start processing with next month as soon as they come back from vacations...so hard to wait

Since ndvo is canadian embassy in india.there is a possibility that they go on holidays as per cic schedule unless something specific from indian govt is issued.

Hope for best

Best wishes to all May applicants including us
May god bestow on us our chritmas presents .

Indeed ..

To answer your questions, in the Canadian Forces we only have so much leave we can use per year. I used all of it like the entire years worth to go to a India for the month of July. Outside of that we had 12 days after the wedding last year for he same reason. I only get 25 days per year total to use. He has not been to Canada because he was refused a TRV for reason they didn't think he would return to India (the usual excuse because they use dual intent as a reason even though they are not supposed to).

He runs an NGO called SAVE. They actually returned trafficked girls to their families!! They also help empoverished women to learn handicraft skills so they can support themselves. The NGO has helped many people and had numerous successful projects completed. He is also well known in Sikh community for doing a lot of high profile seva like setting up big events and also volunteers with the youth hostel association india. He has not a single bad mark in his history and has won many awards for the above.

For proofs I sent not only the usual stuff but also signed leave pass signed by my commanding officer stating my leave last year was to get married. This is an official government document acknowledging the validity of the marriage. Also I included a newspaper article where I was interviewed in 2014 prior to the marriage about becoming first Sikh woman in Canadian navy to tie turban in uniform... after fighting for the right, and this was in times india. In that interview I mentioned I was marrying an amritdhari Sikh from Srinagar. That is a national newspaper and another big proof it is valid. Aside from that we had congratulations in the newspaper a day after the wedding from youth hostel association etc and I also included all those things. These in addition to the usual many photos, emails, phone call logs, etc. So it's no issue with missing documents or problem with our file. It just seems our file was not even opened after 22 March when NDVO entered in the system. The last logged entry for file open was 22 March and nothing after. These logged entries mention the employee # (which officer) and the date and time group when it was opened. Under file activity in GCMS notes. Whether they write a detailed note or not, these entries are automatic.

So I'm at a loss...
