Hi

Does anyone have a similar experience with getting a passport request letter but asking them to get the stamping done in another country other than the one requested for in the letter? We currently have in our letter saying submit it to New Delhi visa office but my husband does not live in India and we would like the stamping to be done in Australia. Wondering if anyone else has asked in the past to get their stamping done in another country and how long it has taken the Immigration to respond back and have they usually done that?

Thanks!

This is new i guess, we have had people having it stamped in Canad while their spouses were here on TRV. Call CIC asap, dont rely on email response for now. Do email them first but call them for immediate action.

PPR usually has an option to get the passport stamped at the current country of residence.

What is the longest people waited for ppr after dm recently,??and what is the general wait,?

To all those who live in Alberta. If your spouse come on TRV in AB , spouse will get AB Health care for 6 months. So everything will be covered for her/him until 6 months. Very simple process to get health card for visiting spouse. Visit nearest registry with valid passport and address proof.

I though to share if it helps others.

Hi,

Thanks for your information. Did you received TRV as I am also as resident at ALberta and will be applying for TRV for my wife.

Our TRV has been rejected without PR background. So we applied for PR and got SA approval and will be trying again.

I received GCMS notes generated on Nov 17th.
No information at all
Nothing started and no notes except one after June 30th.
My BGC is started on 25 Nov, so that is not mentioned in note.

Note 6 on 14th Nov says
Incoming correspondence flipped from provided to received in bulk. To be reviewed when file is processed.
What this mean???

Paper file section says
Update date 14 Nov
Primery: Y
Status: Open
Foss: N

What is FOSS?

This is exactly what it says in our notes as well....Please keep me posted if you know what it means.

Thanks!

Here you go...

What is CAIPS/FOSS/GCMS?

CAIPS

CAIPS is an abbreviation for 'Computer assisted Immigration Processing System'.
It is a Computer System used by all Canadian Visa Offices/Consulates to process VISA applications.
It is a computerized record of all visa applications made by an applicant till date.
It contains various processing stages of your visa application and comments by various visa officers.
It also contains the transcripts of all your Canadian visa interviews in the past outside Canada.
It is being superceded by GCMS.
FOSS

FOSS is an abbreviation for 'Field Operations Support System'.
FOSS is the computer system historically used by CIC offices within Canada and CBSA officers at all Canadian Port of Entries like Airports, Land Borders or Sea-Ports.
It is used to track all immigration-related information of an applicant.
It also contains all your past interviews or even casual conversation with CBSA officer/s at Canadian Port of Entries.
It is being superceded by GCMS.
GCMS

GCMS is an abbreviation for 'Global Case Management System'.
It is a newer version of CAIPS and FOSS that CIC are rolling out across their offices.
It is a unique computerized immigration file system without a need of two different file systems for within Canada (FOSS) and Outside Canada (CAIPS).
Each Visa Applicant is allotted a unique Client ID which never changes irrespective of how many times or types of Canadian Visa one applies.
With GCMS and a Unique Client ID, immigration information, historic or current is available to CIC and CBSA anywhere in the world.
