Hey guys
So I applied for my wife's sponsorship in March,2016 and yesterday I got an email asking for my passport to be submitted. Thumbs up for that. Now I have few complications to be dealt with before further process and i need your help for that. I have been told by friends that the duration for the visa would be till the medical expires which is dated on Feb 12, 2016 so it ll expire in Feb. Now my brother is getting married in India in March,2017 so, to keep it short, I want her to come to India after the marriage with me. What options do I have now?
Awaiting your kind replies
Regards
Oh Boss, first of all congrats. Awesome news...secondly i wouldn't change anything on the dates from Immigration folks if i were you. Try to see if there is a wiggle room to postpone the marriage, this is still Nov. If you want your application to be delayed (no one can answer how long it will take and a response from NDVO is not an absolute must) then its your call.

Better call CIC and ask for suggestions. Meanwhile send an email to NDVO explaining your situation (this can take a week or two to get a response).

If your spouse is not planning to land before Feb 12, then you may have to do re-medical and send a letter to the visa officer asking to issue a PR visa valid until the expiry of the medical. Note this could delay your entire application.
Surely you can call CIC but they will only read you the rules from the website. The don't know anything as to what really happens at NDVO. Tough predicament!!!

All the best.............

I know rainasar already responded but I was just responding to his comment that I have already paid my full

fees so this should not be the reason my bgc went from in progress to not needed at this time.

I did send the birth certificate.

Hi buddy
Don't try to change the dates on Visa.
According to the current trend she won't receive the pr card before you go to India.
But once she landed apply for travel document ASAP.
It doesn't take much time. She can re enter with the travel document.
Or if she has US visitor visa, come via US and cross the border in a private vehicle.
Hope it helps

One point about the US-Canada land border entry, only problem is that from India the agents and the customs&Immigration folks will ask you for a return ticket from the US if and when u fly on a US visit visa. I have had that every single time i flew from India to Canada via US. Just putting it out there.

I don't know much about the travel document, but it sounds way better.

You are right about the entry via US. Sometimes it's a hurdle.
But travel document is a sure shot.
I don't know the procedure but I heard we have to go in person for it

Your spouse is still in India or shes with you in Canada on TRV? Secondly have you received any document request? Best thing in this case is to do an MP inquiry maybe they have sent an additional document request and you don't know about it so they have put the background check on hold until they receive said document.

Another thought I have is maybe they have sent background check. The usual process is that they run the name through a few databases they have access to depending on your travel history plus send inquiry to the local concerning police station. Maybe that police station inquiry has not returned so as the officer glances back at the file he sees that not everything has returned so he's toggled it back for review at a later date. Plus when is your medical valid till? if that is expiring soon then he may opt to send a remedical request then continue on with the file.

Hi rainasar,

She is in canada on TRV right now. We have received gcms notes which were created on October 19th and everything looks normal.

No additional docs request has been sent from their side.

This is so depressing to see your file moving a step forward and then taking few steps back.

Not happy
