Thanks. I was never able to link my account. So no idea. But anybody here knows if email from cic comes after status gets updated or before it gets updated. I cleared all junk in my inbox.

So I applied for my wife's sponsorship in March,2016 and yesterday I got an email asking for my passport to be submitted. Thumbs up for that. Now I have few complications to be dealt with before further process and i need your help for that. I have been told by friends that the duration for the visa would be till the medical expires which is dated on Feb 12, 2016 so it ll expire in Feb. Now my brother is getting married in India in March,2017 so, to keep it short, I want her to come to India after the marriage with me. What options do I have now?

You have to land her before expiry of one time entry of VISA. Or it will be cancelled.

There was another applicant that had the same issue. did you pay all of the required fees before you submitted the application. If you did partial payment that can hold your background check to not needed at this time.

Land her in Canada ASAP and apply for PR Card. She cant leave Canada without a PR Card, hopefully it can come before March

Just to correct....She can LEAVE Canada....problem is re-entering. But still there is option for it.

No I paid my full fees while mailing my application. Gcms notes reflect everything paid

Better call CIC and ask for suggestions. Meanwhile send an email to NDVO explaining your situation (this can take a week or two to get a response).

If your spouse is not planning to land before Feb 12, then you may have to do re-medical and send a letter to the visa officer asking to issue a PR visa valid until the expiry of the medical. Note this could delay your entire application.
