No other line pls guide how to see what's going on to my application

Started processing application : Aug 1
Medical results have been received.

Now my question is,

i saw some reports saying they are considering before June 13, 2016 files as a Backloag. does my file fit into that category ? i mean which time do they consider ? file received or file transferred to NDVO ?

To all those who checked your myCIC in the last two weeks and found the background status changed from "not started" to "in progress", did you (or precisely the principal applicant) get any email saying the status changed (within a day or two after the status changed on myCIC)?

I'm asking because my wife never seem to have received AOR2 or even any email after the background status changed from "not started" to "in progress" since yesterday (September 26).
Please let me know.

Once those files are finalized, backlog will eventually come to an end, or atleast reduced, hence moving files much faster.
