if you are talking about SA letter- SA letter is sent to SPonsor not Principal applicant. It is either sent by email or regular mail
check your spam folder as well

Yes, the letter or email of SA to Sponsor. My Sponsor is living in Quebec, so next step is to apply for Quebec Selection Certificate (CSQ). For that application, we need either email or letter along with application for CSQ.

So i was wondering if CIC takes this much time to send letter to sponsor?

I am not sure i am understanding your situation properly , as i have no idea how CSQ works as you have already sponsorship in process. No idea about Quebec rules.
If SA is approved ask your sponsor to call cic call center in Canada
They should be able to contact CPC to forward approval letter

Need Help..

I am a May 26th applicant for my wife. I applied for TRV and she got multiple entry visa. My question is:

1. Can I apply for open work permit for her now? How much time does it take online vs paper application?

2. Will the file change from outland to inland if she gets open work permit?

3. Would I get tax benefit for her for 2016 if she is on open work permit living here?

Please let me know if anyone has any experience in this matter.

You will get mail/email regarding ur sponsorship approvals and u will have directions how to appy to csq....just wait for mail or call cic and ask them to resend if u missed

You already applied for outland so you can't apply open workpermit its only for inland applications.

No file will not change to inland if she gets here.

So no chance for file tax return.

I agree with AG15, but i guess you can still get some tax benefits like supporting spouse (not sure though)

To add, today my MP mailed me. They did the inquiry without informing me as my details were on their file:

Hi *****,



We called CIC and these are the information relayed :

a) they are still verifying documents submitted - this process takes a long time L
b) Medical still valid until March 2017
c ) have not started yet security, criminality

We have to follow up early January 2017 if there are significant updates.
