I think you shouldn't panic just yet as 2 weeks is Avg time for Ottawa VO to issue Landing Visa. I would suggest to wait for another week and if you don't hear by end of next week, you can inquire then. Best of luck. I don't think there is anything to worry now at this stage. Just relax and wait!!!!

Sure, thanks a lot ;D

Yes. So 1 yourself (question 4) and 1 your wife (question 5(A)). Total becomes 2 (question 7).

Hi, I have a question regarding financial support to sponsored person. Is it good to send money and keep the document or no.
If sending, how should we mention in form, in CAD or Indian rupees? How much we should show.

Also regarding my job; I am not working at the moment as I am looking for a better job, so should I explain the same. How much deposit is needed in my account to support myself.
Please suggest
Thank you

It is not necessary to send money to the sponsored person. If you do send, then keep the documents to prove it and attach in your application. Again how much, is your choice. You don't have to send the money just to show it on the application (unless you have very week relationship proofs).

For the job, its fine not to be working. Explain that you are looking for a new job and provide evidence (like applying for jobs, getting interview calls, etc.). You must not be on welfare in order to be approved as a sponsor. There is no minimum deposit required in your account to sponsor someone. You should be able to demonstrate how you'll support your partner once the PR is approved. You applying for jobs is one way to show, you can also add proofs of your last job, your NOA from last years, proofs if your partner is working and will work once here, etc.

My spouse's medical is expiring in 1 month. Should I ask my spouse to go for another medical and send NDVO in advance or should I wait for request from NDVO.

About 4-5 persons including myself received SA...not a good look for the amount of applicants on the spreadsheet :(

Not yet. I am hoping to get mine this week. If I don't get anything within this week then I'll just call CIC.

You should wait for the request from NDVO. If I am reading correctly, your spouse did medicals in June 2015 and you filed the application in March 2016?

You get PCC from passport office in 15mins only if your passport is issued/reissued less than a year ago and police verification was done against that passport at that time.
Else they will say ploice verification is required and a request will be initiated at your local police station.
Police officer will contact you and get the police verification done. you will have to get a form signed from MC and one more refrence and then they will send the report back to passport office
Only then passport office will send you mail/sms that PCC is ready for collection.
Basically its exactly same process.
Even if you apply at sp office , it will come to your local police station

You should go for passport office pcc if your police verification was done less than a year ago.
In that case you will get PCC within minutes.

I had the same understanding too...but my wife got her passport made 4 years ago..and it still took us 15 mins :)

Hi,

I have a small question. At what stage does the file number get generated for my spouse's application and would I get it in email.

The application for my spouse was received on May 26, 2016. How many days would it take for the file number.

Thanks,
Faraz

The application number is generated at the very first stage. When CPC-M opens your application, they first check for high level completeness of the application, all forms present with signatures, etc. If complete, they’ll create an application number and send an acknowledgement (AOR1) through email (generally) to the sponsor with the application number and the UCI of the sponsor. If there is anything missing, they can send the entire application back or just ask for the missing piece. AOR1 generally takes around 3-4 weeks from the date of application received.
