I read in an article that they are increasing applications by 12000 and they increased labor force for processing

Looks like I've joined the speedy NDVO crew - status changed to "Decision Made" on the "Permanent Residence Application" side on ECAS this morning - I guess the next step is PPR.
I am flabbergasted and relieved at the same time. We spent more than 4 months putting together a 12-pound package by ourselves. Although we did have a few complexities in our application, we made sure to address them all in detail and we're glad that all the hard work has paid off.

Still got a few questions though:

1. Status remains to be "In Process" on the "Sponsorship Application" side on ECAS - is this normal?

2. Passport submission via VFS to Canadian High Commission - does my spouse have to go in-person to the New Delhi VFS to submit his passport? He lives in a remote area and it'd be good to make travel plans ahead of time.

3. Anyone with experience with name change upon landing in Canada? My husband's culture does not use surnames and I think it might become a problem once he lands in the country so we're thinking that he probably has to adopt my last name at some point.

Thank you all lovely, generous and helpful people! I wish you all the best of luck ;D

Congratulations on getting the DM.

1. Yes, that’s normal
2. Your spouse has to submit the passport to any VFS office in India in person. Alternatively, he can also authorize someone with a latter to submit in person on his behalf.
3. As far as I know, it’s not a problem to not have a surname in Canada. Your husband should be fine without it. In case he wants to add your surname, he’ll have to wait to get his PR card in his current name. By the time his insurance card will also be issued in his current name. He’ll then have to change it at all places.

Anybody tell me how long after DM thay send email FOR PPR?

Hi guys, my wife submitted passport on 13 May at Chandigarh VFS. The status over the weekend was showing:

"you processed passport is forwarded to New Delhi"

And , now it says "Visa application, tracking ID No. xxxxxxxxxxx has been forwarded to the Canada Visa Office,Chandigarh on 16/05/2016"

What does it mean? Does Chandigarh VFS would courier it to my home or it is something else? ??? ???

I was thinking that passport will be dispatched by NDVO and not sure why it is moving from one embassy to other. Does anyone has the same experience?

Yup completely normal, they will get it stamped then send it to the nearest location to you for pick up. Should be another few days.
