Hi All,

I am new to this Forum. I am an Indian Citizen who is a permanent resident in Australia and my wife is a Canadian citizen. I applied for my spouse sponsored PR to Canada in March. My current status is

1. Application received on 10th March 2016
2. My wife got acknowledgement and UCI number on 9th April 2016
3. My wife got sponsorship approval on 14th April 2016 and my PR application was sent to Visa Office in New Delhi for further processing
4. Status changed to In Process saying my application started processing on 22nd April 2016 and my Medical results have been received
5. I received acknowledgement from NDVO on 29th April 2016 with my UCI number and also requesting PCC and Landing Fee if not already done. I had done both of them before and proof was sent with application.

I just had a question regarding the visa office. I was going through CIC website now and saw this statement:

"All new Family Class applications must first be mailed to the Case Processing Centre in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada.
In your application, you must select the visa office where your application will be processed. Please consult the chart below to find your visa office."

I did not see an option to choose Visa Office while I filled in my application. If I had seen that I would have chosen Sydney instead of New Delhi. Is that something I missed out? Was there an option to choose visa office in any of the application forms? I had selected Australia specific application forms while applying as I thought it will be processed here as I've been residing here for more than 3 years. However, to my surprise it was sent to New Delhi and that is when I started searching about this.

It would be really appreciated if someone could shed some light into whether there was an option of selecting visa office in application form. I am sure I won't be able to change it now anyway. But still it bothers me if it's something I missed out ???

Also, now that it is processed in New Delhi, once a decision is made do I have to go there to get the visa stamped? Because I have read that it is not legal to mail passport abroad.

Regards,
James

Welcome to the forum.
There is no option to select the visa office in the application. It used to be a few years ago, but now CIC has removed it and they select the visa office by themselves. Indian outland applicants are always (up till now) sent to New Delhi office. You didn’t miss anything.

There is an option to send the passport to either New Delhi (if the applicant is in India) or Ottawa (if the applicant is in Canada). I am not sure how it works for the people who are in some other country. May be someone else has some more information on this.

Feel free to add your information in the 2016 NDVO spreadsheet:

All CIC call center and discuss.
Based on the outcome, decide next steps

Hi all,

I am new to this forum, I have applied for a PR on March 2016 through my wife, who is a canadian citizen.
I have so far recieved Aor 1, SA and Aor 2 from NDVO.

I recently noticed that, my status is in process and have all the three lines updated and medical has been recieved.

When I went through this forum, it said, the next step would be ppr and it would be grateful, if anyone of the same timeline can share, what to expect next from ndvo. If this means, i have passed medical and eligiblity!?

Thanks.

Hello. I just got AOR2 via email. So, the wait begins. Anyone looking to apply TRV?
