Hey everyone . Congrats to all getting dm and ppr. I just wanted to know what is the time period one gets to stay in the country , after getting PR stamped ? In other words how long do i get to stay in india after stamping ? Awaiting your reply

6 months to travel into Canada, you can stay in India as long as you want

We received PPR email yesterday night 11.45 PM EST.

Below is detailed timelines:
1. Submitted/ Received PR application: 25-Feb-2016
2. AOR1: 25-Mar-2016
3. AOR2: 5-Apr-2016
4. File transferred to NDVO: 14-Apr-2016
5. ACK on RPRF linking: 25-Apr-2016
4. Additional document request: 17-Oct-2016
5. Background check went in progress in GCKEY: 6-Dec-2016
6. Decision Made on ECAS for applicant: 7-Dec-2016
7. PPR Email: 11-Dec-2016

Our case summary:
2nd marriage for both of us, wife is 2 years older than sponsor.
Court marriage with only parents presence + Reception
With initial package, sent 42 photos (before marriage, after marriage)
53 additional photos sent in response to additional doc. request
Applied for TRV for wife's family before marriage
Traveled to canada after marriage in Dec 2015
Applied for visitor extension in May 2016, approved VR until Aug 2017

We will be sending passport to Ottawa as wife is here on TRV. (30 days time given to submit passport)

Got PPR today

Got PPR today. The email is requesting it to be handed over at the VFS office . I dont think there is a VFS office in Coimbatore. Can I courier it to the nearest VFS global Chennai office or does it have to be handed over in person

I got PPR last week. Since my wife is already here, her passport was sent to Ottawa for stamping. I have to figure out how to do landing within Canada.

You can always do a flag pole landing at the Ogdensburg Bridge, Cornwall Bridge and or the I-81 S bridge on Highway 401

We finally got our passport request. Our details for the spreadsheet/those interested:

Application sent: April 4th, 2016
Application Received: April 12th, 2016
AOR: May 4th, 2016

Sent to NDVO: June 2016

RPRF Request: September 2016 (I thought I had paid this initially, but then NDVO sent a request for receipt. We ended up sending twice via e-mail to NDVO, through the ICC web portal, and once via courier to CPC Mississauga, as they didn't send a confirmation the first time we sent via e-mail.)

PPR: December 12th, 2016

The CIC website shows 'Decision Made' on both sides as of today, but the GCKey website doesn't show any change from previously.

Also, we applied for and got a tourist visa while waiting for the PR to complete. For that we sent the following documents:

1. Detailed letter from both of us indicating her family ties to India. (My wife wasn't working at the time of the application, so we had to build our case using family ties.) Also indicated that she has no intention of overstaying her visit and no intention of working or studying in Canada during her stay. And we also said that she understands that when the tourist visa period expires she will return to India and wait for her PR to be processed.

2. Detailed (day by day description) itinerary of activities she would do in Canada. (We put in some weekend trips to Vancouver, Toronto, Rocky Mountains, etc.)

3. Proof of travel medical insurance I purchased for the duration of her stay.

4. Proof of funds available to support her for the stay. (We both sent bank statements showing that funds were available to support her during the stay.)

Also, we applied for and got a 10 year multiple entry tourist visa for the USA before attempting to apply for the Canadian visa, which may have helped our overall application.
