Thanks Qorax,
My anxiety forced my to order CAIPS notes. It could be that I receive my PP back before CAIPS,,but still worthfull to see bfds and how chc has diagnosed my file.

I have lost my speech seeing most of you so disappointed.

India is a country of 1.2 Billion people. I suppose one of every 3 educated Indians cherish of having Canadian PR and beside India its Pakistan where 1 of every 10 of them do that. CIC has told that they have already injected twice the number of skilled people than they needed for the year 2011. So any tension is clearly sign of depression needs to be taken care by the applicants themselves.

May God helps us.

The CIC website is still showing processing times for files submitted between Nov 28th 2008 and June 25th 2010 as 14 months. Wouldn't they have changed this if this huge new delay was in effect? Something doesn't quite add up.

Mogboy,

CIC's main concern now is to do everything for the already landed immigrants to get jobs as quickly as they can. The labor market is jittery coz there arent enough jobs for not even half of them. besides, we are knocking CIC's door to bring us off the cold storage to start our processing.

Doesn't your own file and it's various processing dates prove this whole thread false?

I live in Toronto and I can tell you that all the jobs lost in the recession have been recovered. We were never that badly affected by the downturn and the economy is O.K. Wages have risen 4% this year and house prices are going through the roof.

Of course it's tough for new immigrants to find good jobs, it always was, but I don't think CIC can do anything about that. There are jobs, but not enough high paying ones. There are many agencies etc., to help people find jobs, housing and other things.

I wish you every success with your application and hope you find this country every bit as wonderful as I do.

I was not talking about the people who were working prior to 2008 and the recession time started in 2007.
I was talking about the people who landed between 2009-2010. you got any data about them coz I have found only a few of this forum members who got a white collar job, which was not the target of CIC/Canadian government. hope you understood.

I understand what you are saying. I agree that it was difficult to find well paying white collar jobs, but everyone has to start somewhere and there are jobs. For years skilled immigrants have had to take positions well below their qualifications, recession or not. First their is the "Canadian experience" factor and non acceptance of foreign qualifications. I didn't mean to imply it was easy or that no one had any difficulty getting work. It's just that Canada and Toronto fared very well compared to the United States and other countries. Since all the lost jobs have now been recovered it should be back to normal for new immigrants - tough but doable. It would have been difficult for those who came in 2009, in that you are correct.

Qorax,
Do applicants with AEO, get any priority when it comes to quota for issuing medicals/Visa?

When CIC states 1,44,000 pending applications & just 55,000 Visas, out of this number some 12,000 odd will goto post 26 June 2010 applicants & another 6000-8000 to post 1 July 2011 applicants in the year 2011. So approx. 35,000 odd Visas will be available for pre 26 June 2010 & pre Feb 2008 applicants. Right ??

Secondly an applicant with an AEO who applied post 26 June 2010 get any priority over an AEO applicant who applied before 26 June 2010?

Thanks....

Mogboy,

you have reiterated your thoughts but what I was saying that I was looking forward to the job creation number for the last 1-2 year and the situation was very bleak; source: statistics Canada. Canadian employers wouldn't employ foreign workers having no Canadian education and training for the white collar jobs. They might rarely do; I havent heard before though. your post was optimistic and mine was skeptical. I think if you compare these two words, only time could give the best answer.

JNATHAN,

I am unable to substantiate anything with facts or figures from Statistics Canada or any other official agency. I'm sure that for a period of time it was bleak for new immigrants who had no Canadian experience, but that has always been a problem. We have doctors driving cabs because their qualifications are not recognized.

I am optimistic, but then I live here and don't have to fight to find work. In the past 18 months a lot of new young immigrants from around the world have moved into my apartment building, and with rents ranging from $1,000 to $1,900 I think they must be well employed. My evidence is purely anecdotal. The malls are packed, wages are rising and there is a vibrancy about the city. To anyone unsure of how they may fare here, let's just remember that very, very few go back home.

I think that to embark on such an important venture as moving to a new country, you need to be optimistic. You could not have picked a better country to do that.

BTW some employers like the major banks are reaching out to immigrants in their hiring programs. It's not all bleak. I read somewhere that after 7 years immigrants make more money than native born Canadians, but I can't be sure that that's true.

Good luck!

then the question comes. why is the stagnancy among all the CHC's around the world.
why arent they issuing visas at the same rate now the way they have issued in the year 2009-2010 ?

I appreciate sharing your LIVE experience. keep doing that. which NOC sees the more success rate in getting white collar jobs? aren't Canadian employers asking for Canadian education anymore?

Any rocket scientists on the forum who want to volunteer?

Seems no rocket scientists on the forum...... :(

Hey can I volunteer...... although not a rocket scientists I have a very rare skill ...... common sense ;D

I know 1+1=2.

I know if I have 10 vacant seats I will not ask 11 people to apply.....

I will stop accepting money from the 11th applicant till I have a vacancy ie until next year visa quota.

I know that if someone is first in the queue I will attend him first.... first come first serve.

Are my above skills of any good?
Since no rocket scientists on the forum I think I will have to volunteer..... :D

JNathan.

The stagnancy that you speak of is weird in that it goes against what we are being told here, i.e., that the immigration process is being speeded up and the government is doing all it can to streamline the process. O.K. they are politicians, what can I say?

Canadian employers are more interested in "Canadian experience" than Canadian education, but foreign diplomas and degrees often have to be augmented by additional studies here, particularly for people such as doctors. I don't think that is properly explained to people who think they will just take the same level job once here.

My experience is of course just Toronto and the country faces different challenges in various places. It is predicted that there will be a significant shortfall of workers in the I.T. field over the next few years. I believe that the financial sector is growing quite well. I'm really in no position to advise you on various NOC categories.

Toronto is of course the country's financial hub and the downtown office towers are bustling.

I believe the Bank of Nova Scotia (Scotiabank) has a special program for hiring immigrants. You might want to search their sites.

I don't know if my anecdotal thoughts are of much use really, but I'd still go with positive.
