Yes they can but they can take longer to respond to your emails so getting an MP involved may be beneficial. I am not sure if we heard back in 8 days because the MP intervened or would they have emailed us back anyway...

But I would also suggest if it doesn't come to you within 15 days of you sending the email, you should just go and get your passport stamped because you only get 30 days and its not worth risking it.

So it means CIC can change my visa office.

See above. Nobody will be able to give you an exact time frame because its different for everyone and really depends on who is responding to your emails. Ours we got a response I would say fairly quick for the speed that NDVO works at...8 days.

another question,
when creating GCKEY account do I need to cancel my lawyer as representative?
Please advise.

Hi,
I had the same problem couple days ago. And I was told that in that section when they ask for applicant they are asking for the sponsored persons information and there is a section where they ask for either or the place of birth and country or passport information. Only enter one of those. Maybe that will help.

SEEN MOST PEOPLE ON THIS FORUM SAYING "GOT SHINY VISA".
WHY DOES EVERYBODY HAS TO CALL IT A "SHINY VISA" AND WHY NOT A "SPARKLING VISA" OR 'GLOSSY VISA' OR A 'GLITTERING VISA' ETC............

ANYWAY, WIFE RECEIVED HER "SHINY VISA". ;D ;) ;) ;)

GOOD LUCK TO ALL. MAY YOU RECEIVE YOUR "SHINY VISA" SOON.

Hello guys,

I am freaking out and i need senior members to please help me and guide me. I have an interview on Jan 16 in new delhi VO- from mp inquiry i found out the reason for the interview is there was some discrepancies with my date of marriage.

Little background: Sponsor (wife) from canada and husband was in CHINA on study permit.

I went to china to get married to my husband, his family n mines joined too. We had planned to do court marriage 1st but due to some issues with paper work we had to postpone it 1 week. So in the meantime we did religious wedding -Nikah we received a certificate which was stamped by the embassy where my husband is from. Then exactly 1 week later we did court marriage at chinese civil bureau and received a marriage certificate from them also with stamp from china embassy

Now we have 2 different dates of marriage, one is Religious in our eyes but i just released it could be considered civil and one was our court marriage which was legal.

My question is i am scared they will make an issue out of this claiming we did marriage fraud since we already had done legal marriage once, why did we do it again.

GUYS please anyone have any answers to this... i am going insane...

Hi can1989

I think you should talk to your lawyer or hire Canadian penal lawyer in india and explain your situation and ask him to make affidavit mostly this gone help you but still get advice for senior members

You can give a letter explaining it as a religious ceremony followed by registration through court. As long as you have a valid explanation and can back it up with documents, it'll not be held against you. I too had a similar story whereas my wife and I got married in Canada with registration in Canada aided by a licensed priest and later followed it by another ceremony in India for the benefit of relatives. I had mentioned this in the details submitted with application. Since it had already been explained and mentioned they did not even bother to ask me about the 2 dates
